A for Adventure

A for Adventure A community inspiring each other to get outside A for Adventure is a company that aims to inspire people to get outside and explore the world around them.

It all started with a children’s book titled “A is for Adventure”, a rhyming A-Z book with incredible illustrations to ignite the imagination and encourage outdoor play. We believe that spending more time outside connecting with nature helps to build greater curiousity, creativity and resiliency. At it’s core, A for Adventure is a marketing company for adventure! We produce content to inspire peop

le of all ages to explore the natural world. We do this through videos, photos, our CBC radio/tv show, writing, speaking engagements, programs, school readings/visits and strategic partnerships. Share our journey, share your journey. Let’s help each other experience the most that life has to offer. Let's get back to the basics...A is for adventure.

Love to see all those dots!

As we kick off 2026, we’re celebrating new and longtime protected places across Nova Scotia. Pour yourself a cup of tea and take a little virtual wander.

Our interactive conservation map lets you explore it all, click on a pin to discover how and when each property was protected, see photos and videos, and find out which lands are open for you to visit. You can even search and filter to dive deeper into the details.

Go ahead, zoom in, click, explore. You never know what special place you’ll discover next: https://nsnt.ca/our-work/our-conservation-lands/

Happy Winter Solstice! ❄️

Happy Winter Solstice! ❄️

Happy Winter Solstice! ❄️🕯️

Today marks the longest night and shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Winter solstice invites us to reflect, slow down, and gather as the season settles in.
With the sun tracing its lowest arc across the sky, it’s also the day your shadow stretches the longest if you step outside at noon! A small, grounding reminder of the larger planetary shift at play.

And while today may feel like the deepest part of winter, there’s good news! From here on out, daylight begins to grow just a little longer each day until the summer solstice in June. Until then, this is nature’s gentle cue to rest, move slowly, and lean into the stillness of the season.
