I wrote a children’s book and my daughter Hannah illustrated it! We decided to save our favourite pages for a surprise! It should be coming out in print with in the next month, and ready for preorders! Here is a sneak peek! My daughter is so talented and I am so proud of her! Thank you Hannah for helping me with this! ❤️

This is our classroom! No florescent lights, only natural light. The children are learning through curiosity, movement and their senses. They are moving their bodies, smelling touching, hearing everything around them. They watched a butterfly emerge from its chrysalis, they were practicing empathy, being gentle and respectful. We learned how to identify if the butterfly is male or female (it’s female). After watching the butterfly for hours I asked her if she wanted a butterfly book to read she said yes. She read a few pages on her own and then finished the rest of the book reading it to me. I asked her what she learned from the book she told me and showed me the page that had the information she was telling me about, this showed comprehension of what she was reading. One child was jumping over objects so we set up some jumps for them and made them higher or lower when needed. Some children are learning their letters and sounds and they love play doh so we used letter stamps in play doh as we talked about the letters and sounds. These children are just about ready for blending sounds and start sounding out short cvc words! Math was counting the turkey volutes (so many) flying over head, then counting by 10’s and writing it on the hopscotch and jumping in it. One child found the calculator and talked about the numbers he pressed in and the numbers he was making on the screen. So much natural learning through curiosity and love! This is the learning that will stick with them because they were so engaged

He put his hand on my arm and I asked him “did you put your hand on my arm because you want to tell me something?” He said “no, I just like you!” It was so sweet!

He found the calculator I put out. He wanted to use it so
I said yes. He started doing math on it and used it a lot!
