How much more likely are you to use a service or buy a product if it's recommended by someone else?
93% of potential buyers would read online reviews first before deciding to purchase a product or not. And 91% of consumers between the ages of 18 and 34 trust online reviews as much as they trust personal recommendations π€
Showing off reviews from your happy customers is one of the most valuable ways to make that next sale. They also give your business an SEO boost. Keywords listed in reviews tells search engines who you are and what you do. So the next time someone is searching for your product or service online, your business is more likely to pop up on Google's first page.
π¬ The good news is, your customers are happy to provide feedback: a survey from BrightLocal reported, of the 74% of customers who were asked to provide feedback, 68% were willing to do it!
How to gather reviews:
β‘οΈ Ask at the right time. Timing is everything β ask after a customer expresses they've had a positive experience, has recommended you to someone else, or has tagged your business in a social media post. This is when they're most engaged.
β‘οΈ Make it as easy as possible. Customers aren't likely to leave a review if it's too complicated. For online customers, link them directly to the review platform. And for in-person, provide them with a card or flyer with a short link or QR code. The less steps, the better.
β‘οΈ Let them know how long it'll take. One of the biggest roadblocks in gathering reviews is time. Letting a customer know it'll only take 2 minutes boosts the likelihood that they'll sit down and do it β everyone's got 2 minutes.
β‘οΈ Tell them how much it helps your business. Some people don't realize this isn't just a feather in you cap, but a small gesture that makes a big impact.
