🇨🇦🏭 Part of Québec’s future electricity grid will be built with steel fabricated at home.

ADF Group is investing $52.3 million to modernize specialized steel-production facilities in Terrebonne and Métabetchouan.

The Terrebonne plant will receive new equipment to help fulfil a multi-year contract supplying Hydro-Québec with power pylons.

The Métabetchouan facility will also be modernized to meet growing demand for heavy steel structures used in hydroelectric projects.

The federal government is contributing $12.5 million.

The project is expected to create at least 100 jobs while maintaining more than 525 existing positions.

Canada produces more than 12 million tonnes of crude steel each year.

But this project connects that industrial capacity to something Canadians can physically see:

The structures carrying Canadian electricity across the province.

🇨🇦🇺🇸 More Americans are travelling north to Canada.

Statistics Canada’s preliminary July numbers show U.S. residents made approximately 2.7 million trips to Canada by automobile and air.

That was 6.5% higher than July 2025.

And it marked the sixth consecutive month in which U.S.-resident travel to Canada increased year over year.

About 1.9 million of the July trips were made by automobile.

Another 749,000 were by air.

The busiest single day came on July 3, at the beginning of the U.S. Independence Day long weekend.

Canada and the United States have spent much of 2026 talking about tariffs, trade and political disagreements.

But millions of people are still crossing the border in the other direction — to visit Canada.
