"If you’re a WordPress user and you’re using a modern theme, you likely don’t need to worry. After all, many popular WordPress themes these days are responsive out of the box, so your website’s already provides an equal mobile and desktop experience. If you’re using an outdated theme or one that’s not responsive, then now is the time to consider a full redesign."

All of the websites I've created for my customers in the past several years are responsive - optimized to work on both mobile and desktop browsers. If your website is NOT mobile-friendly, Google's latest search-engine update is going to result in a drop in the visibility of your site - eg. potential customers may not be able to find you.

Mobile-friendliness has been an important factor in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for a while. Now, Google is rolling out an update that’ll make mobile websites even more important. It’s a significant change, and it could have a negative impact on your SEO if you’re...

https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2018/03/ask-wordfence-why-is-an-insignificant-site-like-mine-being-attacked

This question came in from Keith, a Premium Wordfence customer. We’ve dealt with this question a few times in different ways on the blog, but pulling it all together sounds like a great post. Gerri Aiudi - Registered Massage Therapist - needed a replacement for her old website. She was happy with the existing design, but wanted it to be mobile-friendly, and needed to update the contents. This is what we came up with.

If you have a small business website, odds are reasonable that it's running on WordPress (25% of all websites use wordpress, and that number is growing). Which raises the question - are you keeping the underlying software up to date?
"Because of its popularity, WordPress is a magnet for hackers. According to Sucuri’s Q1 2016 Website Hacked Trend Report, 78% of the hacked websites they deal with were running WordPress."
The best way to avoid getting hacked is to keep your website software up to date. For my clients, that means taking advantage of my annual Hosting & Maintenance package, in which I take care of your website hosting, AND I do monthly software updates to make sure your website is running the latest software. So - if you like the idea of not getting hacked, and aren't enthusiastic about trying to keep your site software up to date on your own - give me a call :-)
