With the last of our clients’ year-end reels wrapped up, we’ve finally had a minute to tackle our own. 🎬

2025 was full of a great variety of client projects, new home content shoots, 317429 hours behind the desk, and some pinch me bucket list moments in between.

We were out for a walk at one of our favourite nature spots in the other day and peeped one of ’s luxury listings hiding behind the trees. 👀

A West Coast-inspired collab by and our client , this one-of-a-kind property is offered at $5,995,000 in the prestigious Westbrook Estates.

We’ve been coming to this viewpoint for years so it was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon a home we’ve helped market with multiple blog posts, print materials, social media coverage, and more. 💻

Let’s talk IG captions: short vs. long. 💬

Some social media experts recommend keeping it brief to match users’ short attention spans, while others say go long to boost time spent on your post (a signal to the algorithm that your content might be worth showing to more people).

Our take? We think both styles of captions have their place.

Our approach for our social media clients is to mix it up throughout their content calendar. Sometimes it’s a quick one-liner or a few short sentences, and other times we dive deeper with a multi-paragraph post.

But one thing we *always* do, no matter the post? ‼️

We lead with a short, punchy headline that works well with the visual as a standalone.

By doing this, someone scrolling quickly through their feed can still catch the main point of the content, but for those who are curious and want to learn more, there’s additional info below the fold they can dig into. 🪏

When it comes to caption length, it’s not about picking a side. It’s about crafting your caption (and content) with purpose.

🎥 Attended the homeowners’ pre-possession walkthrough to gather testimonial footage, capture design details, and film behind-the-scenes moments that showcase the Urbis customer journey.
💬 Created a testimonial reel for organic social, plus repurposed clips into additional videos highlighting finishes and lifestyle-driven details.

📈 Edited footage into new short-form video ads for Meta and Google, refreshing Urbis’ custom home advertising campaign we’ve been managing from start to finish.

✍🏼 Wrote a long-form blog post that educates potential customers about Urbis’ custom home design process, using Glenora 139 as a real-world example. Included mood boards, sketches, 3D renders, and homeowner testimonials for a behind-the-scenes approach.

📷 Curated image selections for social—selecting the photos we *know* perform best—and created distinct yet complementary captions for the IG feed and stories that keep followers coming back for more.

Back to regularly scheduled programming. 💻

We’ve been quiet on here lately as we settled back into our home office (and got over the jet leg) after the last couple months spent working remote.

While the time change wasn’t ideal for meetings (those 4 am Redbulls were doing the most), this trip was *so* worth the reduction in shut eye and we feel invigorated being back at home.

This trip we set up office in an eclectic mix of coffee shops, coworking spaces, and pool chairs throughout Japan and Indonesia, with evenings and weekends spent out and about. 🗺️

We were surprised with how many fellow marketers we met on the road this time around, but when you think about it, it makes perfect sense.

Marketers are creatives, always chasing a fresh perspective, and travel offers that in spades. ♠️

New surroundings, new cultures, and new rhythms force you to look at things differently, and that shift sparks creativity you can’t always find at home.

*Two* much fun. 🎂

We celebrated our second year in business this week from Tokyo, Japan, a surreal moment knowing that working remote was a key motivator in starting our business.

Year 2 has felt noticeably more settled than our first, but as any entrepreneur can attest, it hasn’t been without its fair share of stressors and sleepless nights.

We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished these first two years and the variety of projects we’ve taken on. We’re grateful for the valued group of partners we’ve assembled and the fantastic clients we get to work with everyday.

Think full-production professionally produced video ads are the only way to grab attention online? Think again.

Short-form vertical video shot right from your phone (ie brief vertical clips like those you’d see on IG Reels or TikTok) is gaining increased traction in the digital ad space as consumers crave more authentic, candid content.

So does that mean we’re ditching professionally produced video altogether? Not exactly.

Our 2025 Word of the Year: Refine.

Vision boards, goal setting, and manifestation used to be considered “woo woo” or a little too but we’ve seen a noticeable shift this year with talks of manifestation and vision planning seemingly popping up everywhere.

💫🦋 ~*MaNiFeStAtIoN*~ 🌈🦄 has gone mainstream, folks. And we’re here for it.

Admittedly (and formerly secretly), we’ve been into this stuff for a few years now when we felt stuck in our career and wanted to live life differently.

However, being a chronic overachiever and a “go hard or go home” personality we, of course, started with far too much. Pages of lofty goals, multiple vision boards broken out by topic, and, frankly, way more than was needed.

Until last year.

Two of our favourite marketing gals from introduced us to the concept of focusing on a Word of the Year. And we loved it.

In 2024 we simplified our goals, cut back on the magazine cutouts (slightly…we are who we are), and kept our Word of the Year as the primary focus.

Our word was “Elevate” (fitting for a second year in business) and we kept that word top of mind when making any kind of big decision, business and personal.

And it was great! Having one simple and memorable focus motivated us. It applied to so many of our goals, business and personal, and it really did help keep us on track.

We were all in on the Word of the Year. And we’re hooked. 🎣

Looking forward to a 2025 focused on ✨Refinement✨.
