Pettapiece, an Ontario resident who had decided to go west to seek his fortune. He started the South Edmonton News and to go with his newspaper he had a job printing department which evolved into The Pioneer Press. Two years later he moved to Revelstoke and sold his business to the McDonald family. The McDonald family owned The Pioneer Press for the next 67 years until March of 1963 when it was pu
rchased by long time employee Jim Edgar and his partner and friend, the late George McEwen. In the following 50 years, Pioneer Press Ltd. has fostered the idea of team players and we have had several employees reach a pinnacle of 30 years or better with our company. We are proud to say that today our team of 20 or so has an accumulation of almost 500 years of service in the printing industry!
