We love when we get to share stories about women who are making an impact in their field. On International Women's Day, we'd like to tell you about Sunalini Menon, India's first woman coffee taster.

She started her career in the 1970s as a young woman working in a male-dominated field. Despite the challenges she faced and the odds against her, she went on to become an ambassador for Indian coffee and help establish it as a quality producer of coffee.

We think this is such a cool story and wanted to share it with you!

Hey, guys! We're excited to announce our partnership with Skaut Coffee Roasters, a family-owned business in Portland, Oregon.

Skaut specializes in pour-over packs that are designed to be enjoyed anywhere you go—they have a knack for making coffee that's perfect for the adventure lifestyle. They're also on a mission to inspire the next adventure for their customers—they embrace the outdoors and an adventure lifestyle, and they're driven by their motto: "Destination. Inspiration. Coffee." We think that's pretty cool!

We've worked with roasters in Oregon before, but this is the first time we've partnered with a company that is based in Portland. We can't wait to share our findings! Portland is a city that has been at the forefront of the coffee scene for decades. With more roasters per capita than any other US city, and over 400 locally roasted coffees competing for consumer attention, it's obvious that this market is rife with opportunity.

But what makes Portland such a unique market? Why are so many roasters located here? And how can we use this information to position Skaut pour-over packs in the best possible way?

The results are in.

We were able to help several coffee roasters climb their way up the Google rankings—from last page to first page—in multiple geographies, on some of the most competitive keywords, in under 6 months.

The interesting part?

It wasn't intentional. It was a by-product of a lot of market research and customer understanding that lead us to engineer websites that made it easy for search engines to rank.

We are happy with what we've accomplished, but the best part is still yet to come. As we continue learning about how different people, with different backgrounds and interests engage with coffee content at different stages of their journey, the higher and faster we rank! It's magical!

If you were to go a bit deeper, one could say nothing works better than improving your page and content quality. If you were to go even deeper… well… nothing works better than authenticity.

A website refresh is easily the greatest way to make an impact on your business. What's important to remember is that websites aren't just there to look pretty or sell products - they're communication tools that help you build relationships with customers and search engines alike.
