We’re excited to welcome Ryan Morrison to the Behrend’s Group team! Ryan graduated from NAIT’s Graphic Communications program in 2018 and has spent the last 8 years building his career in the sign industry as a Graphic Designer. With hands-on experience in large format printing and production, along with advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, Ryan brings a unique combination of creativity and technical expertise to every project he works on.

A highlight of Ryan’s career was designing the k.d. lang sign that now hangs permanently in the Neon Sign Museum, a recognition he is incredibly proud of. His passion for design, attention to detail, and deep understanding of sign production make him a valuable addition to our team. We’re thrilled to have him on board and look forward to seeing his creativity in action.

Ryan is excited to join the Behrend’s Group team and looks forward to seeing his design concepts come to life through collaboration, craftsmanship, and innovation. He is eager to contribute his creativity and industry experience while helping create signage that leaves a lasting impression for clients and communities alike.

Welcome to the team Ryan! We’re excited to have you with us!

This weekend we had our company summer bbq. The weather was perfection! It was a great time with great people.

These details live rent free in our minds.

When we say we think about every little detail… this is what we mean.

Because great signage isn’t just about what you see from across the street. It’s about what’s happening up close.

“Being too friendly with your employees is unprofessional.”

Me and my employees: immediately start a karaoke night 🎤😂

We may be serious about the work… but apparently nobody told us we had to be serious about everything else.

Please join us in welcoming Mikyla Johnson to Behrends!

We’re excited to welcome Mikyla to the Behrends team in industrial design at our Edmonton, Alberta office.

As a recent Bachelor of Design graduate from the University of Alberta, Mikyla brings a multidisciplinary design background spanning industrial design, visual communication, and service design. Her experience across these areas has shaped an adaptable approach to design, with an emphasis on human-centered thinking, effective communication, and strong attention to detail.

Before beginning her career in design, Mikyla spent several years working within the disability community, where she developed experience in leadership, mentorship, program coordination, and person-centered support. This experience has shaped her passion for accessibility, inclusion, and universal design principles, while reinforcing the importance of designing with people and their diverse needs at the forefront.

As she begins her career at Behrends, Mikyla is excited to continue learning and contributing to the team. She is especially interested in the process of translating design concepts from the screen to production and seeing how thoughtful design decisions become tangible outcomes. She looks forward to building her knowledge of architectural signage and its role in creating clear, accessible, and intuitive environments.

We’re thrilled to have Mikyla on board and look forward to having her start her journey in the signage industry.

Welcome to Behrends, Mikyla! We’re excited to have you with us.
