DON’T PANIC and don’t cry over spilled milk, because the smart hitchhiker always carries a towel. Plant the Seeds of Greatness this month by wiping up the milk instead of crying over it. After all, it’s just milk! It’s not like it’s a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, AKA the best drink in existence.

Welcome to Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milk Day! In our ongoing series of ‘Plant The Seeds Of Greatness Month’ we bring to you ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy’ by Douglas Adams.

Take the main character from “The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, for example. Arthur Dent was just enjoying a less than joyful morning when he learned that his house was going to be torn down. And what did he do? Well, he laid down right in the path of the bulldozer, and cried over his spilled milk. But he shouldn’t have! Because at that moment, a much bigger glass of milk was about to spill.

The Vogons hovered overhead, ready to turn Arthur's home planet to dust to make way for a hyperspatial express route.

Luckily for Arthur, he had a knowledgeable friend in Ford Prefect, who (as a smart hitchhiker) always carries a towel.

Arthur's story shows us that after the spilled milk, there’s a galaxy full of adventures waiting for you. Just like in business, you need to be able to clean up that spill and move on. After all, a glass of milk is still just a glass of milk, no matter how much bigger it is.

Welcome to National Chocolate day AND National Read In the Bathtub Day!

February is Plant the Seeds of Greatness Month and reading is one of the best ways to get new perspectives and new information in order to grow your business. And today is the day to grab a good book, grab your favorite chocolate and head to the bathtub!

It can be a struggle sometimes to find the time to work ON our business instead of IN it.

And yet, investing our time and energy into growing is the most important thing. It is so easy to get caught up in the details of the business that we overlook the big picture and where we want to take the business.

Which is why having habits, good habits, to help make all the difference.

Habits can make or break you in just about any aspect of life. Successful people have successful habits.

One of the best books I’ve ever read on creating healthy habitual behaviour is
‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen Covey. I read this many years ago and it really helped me to form some solid habits for myself.

For myself, starting small and making small changes a little at a time is what works for me. One step at a time, little by little; and over time I see big results.
