If you’ve ever felt drawn to photography but unsure of where to start, or found yourself owning a camera that feels a little intimidating every time you pick it up, you’re not alone.
A lot of people come to photography believing they need a natural eye for it, formal training, or years of experience before they can take images they actually feel proud of. What I see, over and over again, is that most of the frustration comes from not understanding how the camera works once you move beyond auto mode.
If your camera has been sitting on a shelf waiting to be explored, if you invested in one because you wanted to take better photos, or if you were gifted a camera with manual settings and still feel hesitant to use it fully, this workshop was created with you in mind.
On February 21, I’m hosting a full day, hands on beginner photography workshop in a cozy, bright learning environment about 18 minutes from downtown Ottawa, across the river. There’s plenty of free parking, and the exact address will be shared with confirmed participants.
The day is designed to be practical and supportive. We’ll learn, try things together, adjust, and try again. I’m keeping the group intentionally small, with only 10 spots available, so I can be present with everyone and make sure no one feels rushed or left behind.
Lunch and refreshments are included, and you’re welcome to bring any camera brand, as long as it has manual settings and is fully charged.
With Valentine’s Day coming up, this has also been a really thoughtful gift for someone in your life who’s been wanting to learn photography, just got a new camera, or keeps saying they wish they knew how to use the one they already have.
