It occurred to me I haven’t really shown my face on here in years so here is a little window into my personal and work life. This is my world: the unpolished, messy middle—the ever-changing terrain of parenthood, love, loss, and creativity.
1. Myself and my son on my parents’ property. Photograph by my childhood friend Julia Stride.
2. I was raised by a painter and a philosophical weld inspector - two quirky single parents who met each other, married and had me. Our family of five lived briefly in a 1 bedroom cabin up a series of dirt roads in Lund before building our family home there.
3. After highschool I studied Film and Art history. During my time at school in Vancouver I began working as a freelance photographer and graphic designer. These are two of my first photography clients from 2013/2014 Hinterland Design and Gunn Consultants
4. I moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2014. I applied for a marketing internship at a local non-profit Deer Crossing The Art Farm. Here I enjoyed participating in many creative community projects. This is a photo-poetry collage I designed for their Sunshine Coast Art Crawl exhibit.
5. I became the sole caregiver of my two children in 2020. I continued to work during nights and naps throughout the pandemic, and spent the days with them at the beach and in the forest. The pandemic gave me the space to come to terms with our life just the three of us.
6. After a number of years doing contract photography and graphic design for Deer Crossing The Art Farm I went on to take an employment position as Marketing and Outreach Coordinator until returning to self-employment in 2025. One of my favourite parts of this job was documenting their programs throughout my time there (photos of the Rainforest Circus and youth-focused Emergence Project).
7. From 2016-2025 I facilitated a drop-in arts program for families with young children called Little Hands. This is a shirt I printed there with my daughter. These two work opportunities gave the consistency and flexibility that allowed me to be both the primary carer and the sole provider for my family.
8. Photography has been the steady throughline for me both as a creative outlet and as fulfilling ever evolving work. These are two shots from 2017/2018 for the Noni Family and breathwork facilitator Loretta Cella.
9. This photo of myself and my kids at 4 & 6 shows us in a moment of joy amidst an admitidelly chaotic time: balancing work and showing up for them the best I could.
These are two of my early branding projects for an event consultant and women’s collective (2015 & 2019)
10. Over the years I have dabbled in website design: for myself, for clients and the organizations I’ve worked for. This is my most recent rendition of my website.
11. This is one of my poems printed in Hackfish Magazine. Recently I have been pulling together a collection of poetry I have been writing over the past decade.
12. This is a recent photo of myself and my beloved partner in life and love Nik. I am overwhelmingly grateful for the care and support he provides myself and my children. Finding deep, meaningful partnership with a kindred spirit has brought a great deal of peace to our world.
13. Here's my kids jumping for joy in handmade Harry Potter costumes. Since leaving my employment work I have taken the winter to reflect and relish in connection with my family after a near decade as a solo parent. This time has been confusing, exciting, and relaxing.
14. Two of my most recent shoots for the Abbot Family and The New Energetics. I am excited to jump into photography for the coming spring and summer season. If you would like to work together, send me a message!
