Just getting back from an incredible snowmobile trip on the Lower North Shore.
We travelled from St. Paul’s River to La Tabatière as part of the tourism project we’re working on with the MRC du Golfe du Saint Laurent, capturing winter footage of the coast. It was a short trip, but one that meant a lot to me personally.
The last time I made that run I was 17 years old — nearly 25 years ago, and for the first time my hubby Ken, and our kiddos got to see it too! Being back out on that trail felt a little like coming home. The coast has a way of doing that. Rugged, raw, beautiful… and in winter it’s something else entirely.
The trails were honestly some of the best I’ve ever seen, and the landscape reminded me again just how lucky we are to live where we live. It was brutally cold at times, but we still managed to capture some beautiful images along the way.
My only regret is that we didn’t have more time.
Trips like this always leave me wanting to come back and explore more of the coast — and they remind me why projects like this matter. There are some truly incredible places back home on the Lower North Shore that deserve to be seen.
