Drawing from my own wins with tree services advertising, lawncare, and more, here are 5 tips to get your offers noticed without the perfection stress.

Be the Expert: Headline your flyer with free tips, like "3 Ways to a Healthy Lawn." Give value upfront—it positions you as the pro, and folks will hire you to skip the DIY hassle.

Ugly Sells! Yep, imperfect pics (like my aerator mistaken for a dethatcher) still convert. Focus on getting your message out—confidence in your service beats flawless design every time.

Get Noticed: Use stiff postcards and wedge 'em at eye level in doorframes. Personal delivery screams premium service—people love that extra care!

Share Costs: Partner up! I've teamed with window washers, siding pros, and arborists to split printing/delivery. Win-win for exposure and savings.

Efficient Delivery: Use a 3-person team—one per side of the street, one driver for supplies. Covers more ground, keeps energy high.

The good advertising game doesn't just count on digital media, and it doesn't just count on word of mouth, and it doesn't just count on print media, and it doesn't really count on radio. It really takes a multi-faceted approach, especially depending on what your business is. For instance, I never listen to the radio. So I would not know anything about what is going on in Grande Prairie if it only came from the radio. To get me as a customer, that would not work. Digital media - sometimes I pay attention. But I can go months without actually looking at my Facebook, because, especially when politics is involved, Facebook just becomes a quicksand of people arguing. I can tell you what I do every day. I checked my mail. I always know when all the good coupons come out.
