Life of a Fishermans Wife - Deborah Mood

Life of a Fishermans Wife - Deborah Mood Thank you for coming to our page, we hope you enjoy learning a little about our life and the seafood industry. These experiences were extremely stressful.

Focusing on women thinking about retirement — or already in retirement — who want to create an extra stream of income online so they can have more freedom, less financial pressure, and more choices in the years ahead. We post on our page to be mostly entertaining while we are marketing digitally. Many years I had looked for something to do from home mainly because I wanted to be home when my littl

e girl got off the bus. It was very important for me to be her to be our main focus. We wanted to be available; to enjoy every minute of her childhood. I tried many jobs from home from customer service to data entry all promising a flexible schedule of family oriented companies. Once trained and set out into the online work space just simply changing my lunch schedule to get my little girl off the bus became an impossible task. We also wanted something I could do that would not only add to the family budgets but give us the freedom to go on vacations and extra things we wanted in life. Although life is not always as we plan; Being a cancer survivor, I've said so many times just this year (2023) I am living proof no matter what you go thru YOU CAN DO IT !! ..... Life isn't always easy. In this global community having had not only the blessing of a business that is constantly growing, we have the support beyond belief. Come join me I'll be here every step of the way to guide and help you!

It wasn’t yesterday. It was taken years ago when Greg was fishing away. Life gets busy, and the years go by, but some videos have a way of stopping you in your tracks.

Watching this reminded me of those days when he was out on the water doing what he loved.

Time changes a lot of things, but it doesn’t take away the memories.

Some days a simple old video is enough to bring them all flooding back. 🤍

Before anyone asks… This is a video from another day on the water that popped up while I was going through old clips people sent me✨ Definitely not yesterday

One thing about spending years on the ocean is you never know what’s going to show up alongside the boat.

Most days are pretty routine.

And then every once in a while, something like this comes along and reminds you that we’re sharing the water with some pretty incredible creatures.

The ocean always seems to have a way of keeping things interesting. 🌊🦈

Who knew they’d have lobster and kiacks in an aquarium? 🤣

Around home, lobster and kiacks are just part of everyday life and the fishery. We hear about them, work around them, and see them on the wharf.

But seeing them in an aquarium gives you a different perspective. You get a chance to slow down and actually look at them instead of rushing past them as part of the day’s work.

It’s funny how travelling can make you appreciate things from home in a whole new way. 🦞🐟🤍

For anyone not from a fishing community, kiacks are actually tied to the fishery. Many fishermen have used them for bait over the years, so seeing them in an aquarium was pretty interesting.

We hear about them every season, but it’s not often you get to see them up close and learn a little more about where they fit into the cycle of the fishery.

Just one of those unexpected things you come across while travelling. 🐟😊🤍

You never really know who you’ll meet, who is sitting beside you, or what stories people are carrying with them.

Sometimes it’s a little scary being far from everything familiar.

But I’ve found that most people are just trying to get where they’re going, doing the best they can, and hoping for a good day along the way.

The world can feel like a big place when you’re away from home.

Then a stranger smiles, starts a conversation, or helps you with something small, and suddenly it feels a lot smaller. 🤍✈️🎢

Funny thing about life…

The parts we worry about the most usually pass quicker than we think.

And the moments we wish would last forever seem to fly by.

Maybe that’s why it’s important to enjoy the ride while we’re on it. 🎢

Life observations:

The climb is usually longer than the drop.

The scary parts are rarely as long as we think.

And the people beside us often matter more than the ride itself. 🤍

I believe a lot of fishermen I know are scared of heights.

Which always makes me laugh a little.

They’ll work in the dark, in the fog, and in rough seas miles from shore without thinking twice about it.

But put them on a ladder, a rooftop, or an observation deck and suddenly they’re looking for the nearest exit.

It does make me wonder what they think is at the bottom of the ocean that makes that feel safer than being 100 feet in the air. 🤣

One thing I noticed travelling around Toronto and Niagara Falls…

I didn’t see anyone selling fresh fish.

I didn’t see anyone selling fresh lobster.

I didn’t even see anyone selling mediocre fish or lobster. 🤣

Maybe it’s there and I just missed it, but where I come from it’s hard not to notice seafood. It’s in the grocery stores, at the wharf, in roadside markets, and in conversations.

It made me realize how much we take for granted living where we do.

Sometimes you don’t notice what’s normal until you travel somewhere that doesn’t have it.

🤣 Then there was the plane ride.

No big cushy seats.
No extra leg room.
And between the vibration the plane was giving off and the captain bouncing around from his pre-flight workout, I think we were getting two workouts for the price of one.

By the time we landed in Toronto, Skye was ready to run the bases, the captain had already done his cardio, and I was ready for a coffee. ☕✈️💙

The adventure was officially underway. 😄
