🚴 Highway 107 Is Not a Bike Path

A cyclist was spotted riding along Highway 107 in an area that has already seen far too many serious accidents over the years.

Whether it’s legal or not, this is the last place most people would want to be on two wheels. With vehicles traveling at highway speeds, one mistake could have devastating consequences.

Stay safe out there — some risks just aren’t worth taking.

🛑 “They had the stop sign. I did not.”

Apparently, stopping was considered optional.

“Bus rips right into the lane I was travelling in. There was a car close to my right, had to step on it and pull right not to be smoked by the bus.

Rolled my window down and looked back after the pass to the bus driver waving a “sorry” to me.”

⚠️ Yield? What Yield?

This driver rolled right through the yield sign and cut off the DashCam vehicle.

Remember: a yield sign means giving way to traffic already on the road.

🚨 DOUBLE YELLOW DISASTER 🚨
New updated pictures

A black pickup truck crossed a double yellow line to pass the DashCam vehicle, which was already travelling approximately 65 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The reckless maneuver nearly resulted in a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle.

The DashCam driver later caught up with the pickup driver at Rainbow Haven Beach, where he was reportedly unapologetic and attempted to justify the pass by claiming the DashCam vehicle was “driving too slow.”

No destination is worth risking lives over.

“At highway merge points, drivers entering the roadway need to merge quickly and safely. It’s often recommended to move into the left lane when possible to give them space. If you can’t or prefer not to, that’s completely fine.

But please avoid suddenly jumping into the right lane at the merge zone. It’s one of the worst places to make that move. And if you absolutely must, make sure to check your mirrors and blind spots carefully.

And I hate that this even needs to be said, but I’ve noticed that whenever incidents like this happen, people are quick to blame immigrants or people of color. To be clear and avoid those assumptions, the driver in this situation was not a person of color.”
