Today is Miners' Memorial Day (and since November 25, 2008, officially as William Davis Miners' Memorial Day) is an annual day of remembrance observed on June 11 in coal mining communities in Nova Scotia, Canada to recognize all miners killed in the province's coal mines.

Born into a mining community, I've always felt a personal connection to this logo I did a few years back which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Springhill Mining Disaster in 1958.

I'm still drawing on guitars! I love our wonderful province so I thought I'd pay a little tribute to "New Scotland" on this old be**er. It's meant to be wall art, the guitar itself is not playable. I'm not sure how much to sell this for but it is available to purchase. What would you pay for this piece of wall art?

The outside design of this poster matched an area rug I once had. The illustration itself I did for an Adobe conference in Las Vegas years ago where it won an award and was chosen from hundreds of entries as one of the top 9 designs of the conference. I was one of two Canadians to win.

Some days my job is not fun. But MOST days, it IS! Getting to draw Santa and his reindeer landing on the roof of The Corner Store by Miss Brenna in Inverness? Well, how fun is that? This was our house growing up, circa 1972. We lived in Cape Breton in a little place called Florence. I don't have a colour photo, nor a view of the entire property as shown here. So, through several B&W photos, I was able to piece together this view. Me and my brothers played a lot of road hockey in front of our house. Our Dad's TV repair shop is the building on the left.

This was such a cool thing to be part of. My son and his wife, Dylan & Destiny Devoe orchestrated much of this event. They had help from a great team and they made it happen: Cape Breton's 1st (and only) Drive-In concert back during the pandemic restrictions in 2020. Kudos to everyone involved for pulling off such an ambitious event: the staging, the lighting, the sound, all the great entertainers that performed that night including Dylan Devoe, who kicked off the show, followed by Colette Deveaux, Jordan Musycsyn, then Pretty Archie. And the Cape Breton Drive-In in Sydney for taking a leap of faith as nothing like this had been done before. And the weather! It turned out as nice as I had envisioned on the poster!

How cool is this? My daughter Danielle made up some "snackleboxes" filled with gummie worms and Goldfish snacks for the winners of a colouring contest that her students participated in to close off the school year.

Well, we made up some colouring books based on the video recorded by my band Jesus Murphy and the kids submitted their colourings. I must say, choosing a winner was not easy, there was a lot of great work there. All the students in participating classes got a free colouring book and a chance to win the snacklebox.

Right now, the colouring book is a prototype. I'd like to perhaps get a sponsor or figure out a way to get this book mass produced about Ken Fraser's world record set back in 1979. I think it's something important that happened here in Nova Scotia and not many people know about it. The school kids where Danielle teaches now know that Ken has held this record for 44 years (and counting). book tuna

Fun little sketches I did for a character named "E", if memory serves me correct. They were part of a storyboard. For those not familiar with the term, storyboards are used by film producers to pitch and then film the scenes of a advertisement or film. These frames, probably not in exact sequence, are out takes from a presentation that I don't think was actually produced but still super fun to work on. I have drawn sooooooo many frames for storyboards over the years, literally thousands! No joke.
