I wrote a KPOP hit in 2023 and nobody really knows about it. 😉

In 2021 I did one of my first online songwriting sessions with a producer from London.
We set out to write a track for Maroon 5.
The sessions would go like this - I’d show up with a rough vocal hook, then we would spend hours working on the production together and building the track around the hook.
He’d add in drums, id throw in guitar, he’d do a synth, I would do the next vocal part. Back and forth until we had a presentable product.
After a few weeks of perfecting the demo, we shelved it hoping it would someone big would pick it up. (you can hear that demo in the link below).
2 years went by with no word on the track…
Until we finally got a message that a new KPOP artist had picked it up.
They translated the lyrics to Korean..
During which they changed the entire concept of the track and kept almost none of the original lyrics, lol.
This was the first project I worked on where I wasn’t also the singer.. I was JUST the writer..
And I liked it. 😁
