Yesterday we coordinated the hiring of a drone operator to take some images of some projects we are marketing Grande Pointe Meadows and These projects are in Winnipeg, MB so everything was done remotely. Here are a few sneak peeks at what we got! We will be cutting a marketing video for each property shortly as well...and yes, the drone operator was fully licensed and insured!

6,643,849 views on Google Maps!...and counting.

Between the three of us here at thejrp we have accumulated 6.6M views on photos we have submitted on Google Maps. To add to that, our personal reviews of local businesses has topped 128,000! We can't stress enough how vital this is to doing business in today's economy. It is free, it is powerful, it is consumer driven and it is where online eyeballs are.

Think back... how often do you make a purchase decision based on seeing a Google photo that describes the place perfectly? Or read the reviews of a restaurant before even looking at the website or menu? This is the way of the World now. We pre-shop. We make decisions without even talking to the people in the business. Even if someone recommends a business, you are likely going to check them out on Google first.

So what do you do as a business owner? Well, here are a few simple steps:

✅Let you customers know to review you on Google. Send them a link in a thank you email.
✅Post a sign on your Exit door that direct people to review.
✅Put signs around your establishment that say “Post a pic WIN a ______ We draw monthly from all new reviews!” Don't make them feel compelled to leave 5 star (although that is what we want!) Authenticity wins every time.
✅Respond personally to every review. Sign off with your name (ie: Todd – Store Manager) Do not use the Google automatic reply. Gratitude goes a long way when it is authentic.
✅Post a feature photo each week or month on your social channels. Pick one from the photos submitted to Google and post it on Facebook and Instagram. Give a shout out to the person who posted it on Google. Feature their review as well. Then add a CTA (call to action) that let's social followers know that they can review on Google.
✅Check the views on your customer submitted photos. Find their info in your database and send them a gift thanking them. Seriously, this will blow their minds. Do it randomly but do it often.

By what if I get a bad review? No problem, this is the perfect place to thank the person for making you aware of the situation and to take them offline. Do not debate in the public forum of Google reviews. Show future review readers that you are a rational person to deal with. Hey, we all know mistakes happen. It is how you deal with them that makes the difference. More about dealing with negative feedback in another post!

Again, we can't stress enough how powerful this free tool is from Google. Set up your business page. Verify it and start nurturing it with the tips above. Need more help or advice? Give us a call and we will show you how we can help you out.

In honour of check out what our friends at Turtle Bay IT Services are up to. They have their 3D printer running non-stop producing super hero ear guards for Frontline workers. Best part... They are giving them away! Way to go Johnny and Craig. Awesome idea to support our Frontline super heros 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️♥️

Wearing a mask around your ears for 12 hours straight can cause some serious irritation. That’s why a local business wanted to help provide some relief; Turtle Bay IT Services is using their technology and 3D printer to make and distribute free ear guards for frontline workers.

This is a good one. The 10 (err...I mean 24) Commandments of Modern Marketing.

Thou shalt build revenue FIRST and brand SECOND. Brand matters, but the primary goal must be sales.

Isn't that the truth! Open rates are a challenge. Especially now with more companies loading up our inboxes in an effort to drum up scarce business. We have been assisting with email marketing for over a decade now and from our experience, offering value to you readers is more important than ever.

Ask yourself these questions:

✅ How can you help solve a problem your reader might have?
✅ What things can your product or service do that maybe they didn't know about?
✅ Tell us an interesting story about your company's origin.
✅ Show me that you are the go to leader in the given field.
✅ Human interest stories - we love hearing about the people who make your business what it is!
✅ Can you create demand for your campaigns? Exclusive content, subscriber only specials, first look messages.

Be real, be human and be quick about it! Give us a tease and let me link off to a blog post for more info.

Things to avoid:

❌ Sales culture - if you are always talking sales and discounts people start to ignore them and they expect that you always have a sales on. ALWAYS sell on value and demand.
❌ Tricky Subject Lines - fool me once... these are bait and switch and they will kill your credibility as fast as a click of a mouse.

Create a schedule and send emails on a regular basis. Our most success has been with sending 2 emails per month at the most. One per month at the least. Of course, you can send more but you MUST have items of value to talk about otherwise your readers will stop listening and the value of your list goes down the tubes.

Need help with your campaigns? Give us a call and we'd love to chat.

Necessity breeds ingenuity. We love this idea. The people at Red Paddle Co have introduced a Virtual Shopping experience. Book a time and one of their pros will call you back using your choice of technology - Facetime, WhatsApp, Zoom or the good ol telephone. And that isn't all, they are also directing their online sales to the closest local retailer of your choosing. We have been saying for a LONG time that the old retail model is dead but that businesses need to inject the human element. Not just rely on having a fancy website. Nice work Red Paddle Co

Creative people. Coffee addicted. Forward thinking.

The Joe Rich Project is a digital agency company that has been around since 2003. We started off as a web development company and have evolved into some thing more today. We work with people and businesses to develop an overall digital strategy for their business. This means looking at the current strategy of your business, understanding it's goals and using digital to expand the reach of the business. We like to see how we can use all digital tools in our toolbox to help you get to where you want to go. We believe a good website is a strong foundation but then we want to help you build from there. We integrate a brand-building social strategy, email marketing, search optimization, content development, graphic design, photography, videography and more....once we have had enough coffee of course ;)
