The brand started as a pharmacy back in 1851 and introduced ‘customer sampling’ and ‘try before you buy’, something not done before.

A skeleton called Mr. Bones was set up in store and used to help people understand their ailments. Today, the skeleton has become an iconic fixture in every store.

Vintage motorcycles were displayed inside the pharmacy to attract men to come in and buy products back in 1960.
