Standing behind the lens at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial is something we don’t take lightly.
On Vimy Ridge Day, we remember what happened at the Battle of Vimy Ridge—when, in April 1917, all four divisions of the Canadian Corps fought together for the first time.
It was a hard-fought victory, but not without cost—over 10,000 Canadians were killed or wounded. And for many, Vimy is more than a battle—it’s considered a turning point for Canada, a step towards our country’s unity and nationhood, and a moment that helped define who we are.
To capture this place is to feel its weight, its history, and its lasting impact.
