I learned how to cope long before I understood why I needed to.

Growing up autistic and ADHD without support meant quietly figuring things out on my own—masking, building systems, and leaning into creativity just to get through the day. Writing became my coping strategy long before it became my passion.

In this conversation with Randi-lee Bowslaugh - Author on Our Neurodiverse World, I talk openly about late diagnosis, raising neurodivergent children, and how finally understanding my brain replaced years of self-blame with clarity and self-compassion.

Sharing this part of my story still feels vulnerable—but I do it because I know how isolating it can feel to grow up without answers.

If any of this resonates with you, I hope you will take a moment to watch—and maybe follow along. I share openly so others know they are not alone.

I have always been drawn to underdog heroes—the ones who do not quite fit, but keep going anyway.

In this conversation on The Tell Not Show: The Writing Journey with J and K, we talk about my love of action-driven, character-focused stories, my very “what if?” way of thinking, and what first pulled me toward dark fantasy.

I share the heart of my series and my protagonist—an unlikely hero who just wants to live a normal life, but cannot escape his powers. His struggle to belong in either the human world or the magical realm mirrors my own journey with autism and ADHD, and the lifelong search for where I fit.

Talking about this side of my work—and myself—is vulnerable, but I share it because I know how many people see themselves in stories about being different, underestimated, and quietly strong.

If you love stories where good fights hard to overcome evil, where heroes are flawed and human, this conversation may resonate with you.

I have always been a “what if” thinker—someone who follows ideas past the obvious and into the uncomfortable, the magical, and the unexplored.

In this conversation on Book Lights Podcast with Lisa Kessler, we talk about my creative process, the heart of my dark fantasy series, and how writing became both my passion and my coping strategy while navigating life with autism and ADHD.

We discuss unlikely heroes, magic, and the struggle to belong—both on the page and in the real world—and how those themes shaped Forsaken Souls and the larger Callum Walker series.

Sharing this part of my journey is vulnerable, but I do it because I know how powerful it can be to see yourself reflected in a story.

If you love fantasy with heart, flawed heroes, and stories shaped by real lived experience, this conversation may resonate with you.

What does creativity really require?

On The Creativity Show, I joined a panel of authors to discuss the marvels—and the realities—of building stories from nothing but imagination and conviction.

We spoke about persistence, craft, and the responsibility that comes with shaping narrative worlds.

If you love behind-the-scenes insight into the creative process, take a look.

Every story begins with a spark… but it is the journey that shapes what it becomes.

Last summer, I had the opportunity to talk about the Callum Walker series on Turn the Page, the official podcast of the Syosset Public Library. We explored the inspiration behind the series, the path that led to Forsaken Souls, and how the story continues to evolve.

In this fourth instalment, Callum and Jax set out to repair the Veil, only to walk straight into enemy territory. They come face-to-face with the elusive Southern Elves and are taken captive, as tensions rise and a reckoning looms.

It was a great conversation about creativity, persistence, and the process of building a world that continues to grow with each book.

Stories are not just built on magic and war… they are built on what people are willing to become when everything is at stake.

I had the pleasure of joining Sarah Meckler on Golden State Media Concepts - Book Review Podcast to talk about Forsaken Souls—a world where magic and humanity collide, and two brothers are forced into a fight that could decide the fate of both.

We dive into:
• The inspiration behind Callum and Jax’s journey
• The challenge of balancing epic scale with emotional depth
• The moral weight of power, loss, and inner darkness
• And the reality of crafting a story where survival is not the only thing at stake

This conversation goes beyond the surface of fantasy—it explores what it means to fight for something greater than yourself… and what it costs.

There is a moment in every writer’s life when the story stops being something you "work on”… and becomes something you live inside.

I sat down with Books4Guys to talk about what it means to be fully immersed in your writing, to chase ideas the moment they spark, and to let creativity flow without forcing it into a box.

We also got into the reality behind it all—the balancing act between writing and everyday life, and how messy, intense, and deeply personal the process can be.

If you have ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a story… this one goes there.

Last summer, I sat down with Brook Wright on She Blurbs Podcast to talk about my journey from avid writer to published author.

Writing did not start as anything big for me. It started as a creative outlet—something I enjoyed doing, and a way to disappear from the daily chaos of the real world... if only for a moment.

Along the way, it became something more—a hobby turned passion.
Now, years later, it has given me purpose and, in many ways, become my form of self-therapy.

Writing has helped me process things I did not always have words for. It has challenged me, frustrated me, and pushed me further than I ever expected—but it has also given me something invaluable in return. A sense of clarity, direction, and purpose.

Looking back, I never could have imagined where this path would lead.
And honestly… I would not change a thing.

Back in October 2024, I sat down with Tim Niederriter for one of my very first podcast interviews—still figuring out how to step out of the shadows and say, “Hey… I write stories. And they matter.”

Looking back now, I can hear the difference. The hesitation. The edge of uncertainty. But I can also hear something else… the beginning of belief.

It's amazing how far I've come.

If you’ve ever wondered where this journey started—or what it sounds like when an author is just starting to find their voice—this is it.

Last April, I had the opportunity to sit down with Kimberly Schafer on Persistence Pays Off and discuss not only my books but my journey to becoming an author.

There have been more times than I can count that I felt completely overwhelmed along my journey. Times when I was exhausted, stuck, and very close to walking away from it altogether.

It is not always the writing that is hard; it is the nagging doubt that maybe I'm not good enough. Or the worry that, after pouring everything I have into something I love, it will not be appreciated?

Thankfully, I did not give up.

Looking back now, I can see that every difficult moment was not a sign of failure... it was part of the process.

If there is one piece of advice I would give to any prospective author, it is this: writing is a marathon, not a race, and persistence is a valuable skill.
