This year, I decided to learn AI so I could keep up with the younger crowd. At first, it felt like I’d shown up late to a party hosted by 25-year-olds who speak fluent “prompt engineering.” I remember dial-up internet. They remember TikTok trends.
But here’s what I discovered:
AI doesn’t reward youth. It rewards clarity, context, and good judgment. And guess what GenX professionals have in abundance (besides mixed tapes)? Experience.
Now, AI is my brainstorming partner. It hasn’t replaced what I know - it’s amplified it. The best part of learning something new at this stage? There’s no ego. Just curiosity. And actually understanding your Millennial relatives.
The future doesn’t belong to the youngest person in the room; it belongs to the most curious.
PS - yes, I did get some writing inspiration from CANVA for this post. It was "homework".
