More than 10 years of friendship, Toastmasters, conversations, laughter and cheering each other on.

Jacqueline and I first met through Toastmasters, but somewhere between the speeches, meetings and personal growth, we became real friends.

She has gone on to do amazing work in public speaking and training, helping others develop the confidence to use their voices well.

One thing this friendship continues to remind me is that relationships matter.

Not only when you need a favour.

Not only when you’re looking for an introduction.

Not only when there’s something in it for you.

Sometimes you simply meet good people, stay connected, support each other and allow the friendship to grow.

And over time, those relationships can lead to ideas, opportunities, encouragement and doors you could never have planned for.

Workplace leadership is changing.

And The Workplace Leadership Conference 2026 was the perfect room for the conversations leaders need to be having right now.

Big ups to Dr. Jamie Pajoel and his team at Workplace Leadership Institute for putting on such a great event.

I was especially happy to hear AI being addressed head on.

Because AI is no longer just a tech conversation.

It’s a leadership conversation.
A workplace culture conversation.
A business decision conversation.

As someone who helps business owners make sense of AI in practical ways, it was encouraging to hear these challenges being discussed openly and honestly.

When you’re surrounded by beautiful people celebrating their mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, friends, and the women who mean the world to them… you take the picture.

Holly and Nicola's Mother’s Day Brunch Experience was such a beautiful afternoon filled with music, laughter, love, fashion, food, hugs, and those “wait, let’s take one more” moments. You know the kind. The phone storage starts crying but the memories are worth it. 😂

I have to big them up for having me as the emcee and for creating such a warm, joyful, and meaningful experience for everyone in the room. They both hosted with so much heart, and it showed.
