This the story of messed up lil’ kid…
Who lied to himself and others to feel accepted.
Who had every reason to live a basic a.f. life.
And who quit everything for an uncertain future.
I’m not here to gain your acknowledgment, trust or respect.
I’m here to share that regardless of where you find yourself, you’re one decision away from a complete 180 turnaround.
But only if you speak your truth.
Cuz not too long ago, I was drowning.
I was stuck in an environment I despised and yet had no way out.
I was a fu***ng liar and deep inside couldn’t have been more embarrassed...
That I had to pretend to be someone else to feel worthy…
Had to struggle for what seemed to come to my friends so easily...
… That the only way I found to be confident was through alcohol and smoking a pack of cigs a day at 14.
The only solution I found to cope with my lack of self-esteem?
I wore the mask of smoke & mirrors:
And lied about “getting all the girls”
About making “all the money”
About “being the leader”
In reality? I was nothing. Broke af.
Well all need to hit rock bottom right?
My point of no return was running out of money for AirBnBs
And looking at the starry sky, at 2am, in the park.
The pressure within became stronger than the pressure to conform.
I quit my job, quit school, quit everything.
The best part?
I was clueless.
No experience, no certificates, and no network. Nothing besides the need to make this sinking ship float again.
I took the jump and most importantly forgave myself for my actions of the past.
And most importantly never looked back.
And now here we are and makin’ a difference.
But like I said, I’m not here to gain your acknowledgment, trust or respect.
I’m here to plant and nurture these seeds:
It’s fine not to know what you want.
It’s normal to be completely clueless.
It’s okay to be a wreck.
It’s important to question EVERYTHING.
It’s part of the process and a series to be embraced.
What’s not cool is:
Not shining your light because you’re different.
Sticking to toxic behavior, people and endeavors.
Thinking you’re not worth it because you don’t have all your s**t together.
So let go, cry, feel fear, release, love and heal.
This journey isn’t meant to be played alone and the right people will gravitate when you begin speaking yo truth.
Sooner than later:
You’ll find yourself shining brighter than ever before.
Keep yo head up.
