Capturing some photos this evening to compare Nikon z9 120fps photos against 4k 120fps video frames. The 120fps photo setting is 11 mega pixels Jpeg files. The 4k 120 fps video is n-log. This makes colour grading more possible when compared to the Jpeg files. In my experience so far the 120fps photo mode is not useable. You can capture moments you wouldn't otherwise get, but with colours and dynamic range you won't want to look at.

Time for a new camera. The Nikon Z9. I am not excited for the high resolution 8k 60p or photos at 120fps. I am excited about the dependability and ruggedness, extreme battery life, and internal high bit rate log profiles. I won’t need a camera cage and a ton of accessories to “make it work”. It just works, which makes it smaller and lighter than my previous camera rigs. .
