It is official...

I can finally believe it as surprising as it is...and now I share the news since it is official, in print and posted on the RESA 2020 awards website.

Someone unknown to me has nominated me for a very special award within my staging association RESA. I am very honored to receive this nomination of the -

LORI KIM POLK LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

"Lifetime achievement awards are awarded by various organizations, to recognize contributions over the whole of a career, rather than or in addition to single contributions".

Staging just isn't a job it is who I am from the inside out. To be recognized for my contribution and achievements in our industry is truly like being nominated for an Academy award.

I recently saw this “ table set “ for sale and it struck me as being very similar to selling a house and what we do as Stagers to prepare properties for the selling market.
As as Home Stager I always explain and ask, “what are we selling”. As in the picture and this case....What are we selling, “ the table and chairs or the “stuff”.
We can’t really see the selling features and focal points or can we have a good look at the chairs that are part of the set.
With Staging we always want to show what it is we are selling wether it is a living room, kitchen, bedroom etc. Show the intention for the purpose and not the stuff as in personal,items, nicnacs , small appliances on a kitchen counter ...you get the idea.
Had this table been cleared with perhaps a tasteful accessory, showing the chairs, polished and shiny and in good repair it may have sold short after the “ good photos” had been posted. Perhaps there would have been more than one person interested.
And so it goes...GET it Staged, Get it Sold! Home Staging Works!
