A Little Bit About Wix Websites

We often work with clients who have websites that require a little more heavy lifting, such as online stores, memberships, forms, and other more advanced features. At the same time, they want the ability to update and maintain their website themselves. That’s where Wix can be a great solution.

While Wix makes it possible for clients to manage their own websites, it isn’t necessarily a simple, plug-and-play solution. More advanced websites can involve a fair amount of backend information and functionality that requires some knowledge and understanding to manage properly.

Whether you’re looking to build a large e-commerce website with memberships and other advanced features, or you simply want a straightforward website that tells people who you are, what you offer, and where you’re located, give us a shout. We can help get you started!

We also create custom manuals specifically for your website, covering only the features and tools that were used to build your site. This gives you a helpful reference when it’s time to make updates or maintain your website yourself.

When we build your Wix website, we take accessibility seriously. We make sure the site follows AODA standards, where applicable, and that it is designed to be mobile-friendly.

Once the website is handed over to the client, however, ongoing updates and changes become the client’s responsibility. Unfortunately, we sometimes see accessibility or mobile-friendly issues introduced when clients make their own changes. This can include colour combinations that no longer meet accessibility requirements, formatting issues, or simple errors throughout the pages.

We provide the information and tools needed to help you maintain your website properly, but once you take over the site, keeping it accessible, accurate, and mobile-friendly is ultimately in your hands.

We’ve just wrapped up a new hand-coded website for Black Bear Acres, (www.blackbearacres.ca ) located in beautiful Cochrane, Ontario! 🐻🌲

UPDATE: Hostpapa is currently experiencing some issues on outbound emails - they are running emergency maintenance. I will post once things have been rectified.

We are aware there are some outgoing issues with emails. I have contacted the hosting company and am awaiting their reply.
