Virtual Community Building ! 🔥

I want to extend a giant thank you to for having me do their Social Media Takeover yesterday! An ongoing series available to millennial moms on every last Tuesday of the month.

Social media takeovers are a tremendous opportunity to share your ENERGY and attract those who appreciate it most to you.

I was very nervous because it was my first time doing this, but it went well!

Here are my tips if you ever get the pleasure of doing a takeover here are 3 quick tips that have worked for me:

1. Be yourself. If you’re goofy, silly, nerdy and adventurous

2. Sharing is caring! : don’t be shy about self-promotion work in your businesses, your projects & partnerships because they are as much a part of you as you are. Tell that story.

3. Get vulnerable : If you’ve followed my stories you’ll hear my story of feeling miserable at work and deciding to start my own business 🔥

Humanize your business! Even if you’re an entrepreneur you’re a human being first and your goal is to attract and to connect with PEOPLE!

Thank you for the opportunity to share my authentic self with your beautifully engaging audience! 🔥

So you’ve said the wrong thing

Last week I had the pleasure and honor to join on a social media panel.

The last event was revolved around saying the wrong thing on social media.

Each panelist shared their experiences and advice revolved around ways to navigate that kind of stress 😨!

Mine were fairly simple:

1. Don’t panic, don’t delete the post, pt attention and plan your next move.

2. Address it in another post. Or in the stories. Be honest about where you fell short or where you’ve been misunderstood.

3. Be accountable: continue to revisit this, and showcase the work that’s being done to resolve the issue.

What’s YOUR method?
Would you add anything to this list?

Happy international women’s day ✨
To my wonderful female clients/colleagues today ❤️

(I don’t have a photo with all of you and we will fix that soon 📸)

I remember when owning my own business felt like a silly pipe-dream, now here I am loving life.

You are all contributing to making my dream come true and I appreciate you so deeply it hurts.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cheers to the humanistic content takeover. The world needs more of US raw and uncut.

I’m thrilled to contribute to your journey to the top! 🔥

Xoxo

How do I show up and Celebrate Black History Month on Social Media?

Black History Month is an annual recognition of the history, achievements, and influence of the Black community.

But in 2021, it’s important for brands and creators to go beyond simply posting a Martin Luther King Jr. quote. Instead, it’s the perfect opportunity to educate your audience, uplift Black creators and businesses, and advocate for change.

Here are 5 tips to do so tastefully :

Creator Spotlights and Q&As

#1. Spotlighting Black creators, entrepreneurs, and Black-owned brands in your industry can be a great way to introduce your audience to people and businesses they can support.

Can’t think of anyone? TAG US! 🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️ we always appreciate a good shoutout as a proud black-owned biz

#2: History Lessons and Fun Facts

History lessons are a great way to celebrate Black History Month on social media.

While most brands will think to spotlight Martin Luther King Jr. or Rosa Parks, we encourage you to be proactive, do your research, and go beyond the obvious choices!

Get creative! If you sell something related to a black inventor, thank them up locally while using the opportunity to educate your audience on a touch of black history. Stay tuned for some examples in the coming weeks.

#3: Amplify Black Voices and Pass the Mic

Want to use your social media platform to amplify Black voices in another way? Pass the mic!

Do weekly IGTV or Instagram Stories takeovers where Black creators, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders use your platform to spread their message and speak about their personal experiences. WE VOLUNTEER get in the DMs if you’d like to feature yours truly

#4: Quote Posts

Inspirational quote posts are frequently shared on social media because they can drive engagement for brands and creators alike.

And for Black History Month, there are so many inspirational Black voices and leaders to spotlight: my favorite quotes are from James Baldwin 😍

#5: Support the Community and Advocate for Change

Black History Month is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness about local nonprofits and offer support.

Will you post for BMH? 🙋🏾‍♀️👇

Our team is growing! ✨✨✨✨

Meet Britt! 🤩

Here’s what she had to say:

“What’s your favorite thing about social media?

One of my absolute favourite things about social media is, it allows you to experience so much of the creativity and diversity out there in the world. You get to experience things from others’ perspectives rather than just your own. It is full of individuals with passion and great ideas that get to come to life by the ability to share content so easily.

What’s your favorite thing about boom media/ Cass

My favourite thing about boom media/Cass is the authenticity. The energy put out there even on days where it seems almost impossible to grasp, the openness for diversity and the eagerness to continue learning is truly inspiring. Each and every day I feel like I learn something new from both Cass as a friend, and boom media as a business. It is absolutely refreshing to me!”

Welcome welcome!
Stay tuned for a celebratory dance reel 💃🏿from yours truly. 🤩

I don’t know who needs to hear this but....

📣Being young doesn’t mean you’re automatically a social media expert! 👀

📣It doesn’t mean they know how to develop and intentional social media strategy.

📣And it definitely doesn’t mean that they even WANT TO do your social media.

Sometimes they’re being polite. 👀

Just leave your high-school aged people alone! 😩

You wouldn’t let them take over any other part of your business, so why your PR? 🔑

This is the face and voice of your business!✨

Don’t take your business’ social media lightly. That’s dropping some serious coin💸💰

✨Treat it as such and hire a pro to get it right the first time. ✨
