Tourisme North Bay est honoré de recevoir le Prix Roland-Rochon, une distinction qui souligne notre engagement à promouvoir la francophonie et à célébrer la vitalité culturelle de la région de Nipissing.
En tant qu’organisme touristique, nous sommes fiers de faire découvrir North Bay et la région comme une destination accueillante et inclusive, où les deux langues officielles du Canada ainsi que les nombreuses cultures qui façonnent notre communauté sont célébrées.
Nous sommes particulièrement fiers du travail que nous accomplissons pour appuyer la francophonie et accroître la visibilité de la culture francophone dans nos initiatives touristiques et de marketing, notamment :
- la création et la distribution de publications en français qui permettent aux visiteurs et aux résidents de découvrir et de vivre la région dans les deux langues officielles;
- notre appui aux célébrations du 50e anniversaire du drapeau Franco-Ontarien, une étape importante de l’histoire et de l’identité franco-ontariennes;
- la promotion de célébrations et d’événements communautaires, notamment le Carnaval des Compagnons et les célébrations de la Saint-Jean-Baptiste;
Cette reconnaissance est particulièrement significative pour Tourisme North Bay, car le tourisme va bien au-delà de la promotion d’une destination. Il s’agit de raconter les histoires qui nous définissent, de célébrer les gens et les communautés qui la font vivre, et de partager les expériences qui rendent notre région unique.
Nous sommes reconnaissants envers Les Compagnons des francs loisirs d’avoir reconnu la contribution de Tourisme North Bay, ainsi que pour le travail important qu’ils continuent d’accomplir afin de soutenir la culture et la communauté francophones dans la région de Nipissing.
Nous acceptons ce prix au nom de notre équipe, de nos partenaires touristiques ainsi que des nombreuses organisations communautaires, entreprises et personnes qui contribuent à faire de North Bay une destination dynamique et accueillante.

Tourism North Bay is honoured to receive the Roland Rochon Award, a distinction that recognizes our ongoing commitment to promoting Francophonie, bringing communities together, and celebrating the cultural vitality of the Nipissing region.
As a tourism organization, we are proud to help showcase North Bay and the surrounding region as a welcoming, inclusive destination where both of Canada's official languages and the many cultures that shape our community are celebrated.
We are especially proud of the work we have undertaken to support and increase the visibility of Francophone culture throughout our tourism and marketing efforts, including:
- Developing and distributing French-language publications that help visitors and residents discover and experience the region in both official languages;
- Supporting and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag, an important milestone in Franco-Ontarian history and identity;
- Promoting community celebrations and events, including the Carnaval des Compagnons and Saint-Jean-Baptiste celebrations;
- Continuing to incorporate and highlight Francophone culture within North Bay's tourism, events and cultural offerings.
This recognition is particularly meaningful to Tourism North Bay because tourism is about more than promoting a destination. It is about telling the stories, celebrating the people and communities, and sharing the experiences that make a place unique.
We are grateful to Les Compagnons des francs loisirs for recognizing Tourism North Bay's contribution and for the important work they continue to do in supporting Francophone culture and community in the Nipissing region.
We accept this award on behalf of our team, our tourism partners and the many community organizations, businesses and individuals who help make North Bay a vibrant and welcoming destination.
We are proud to continue working together to ensure that the French language, Franco-Ontarian culture and our region's linguistic and cultural diversity remain visible, celebrated and part of the story we share with visitors and our community.
