My best ideas tend to arrive when Iโm ๐๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ to write them down.
In the shower.
Halfway through swimming laps.
Doing something repetitive that requires almost none of my attention.
Apparently, my brain has no respect for office hours. ๐
But those moments have something in common.
The little voice that questions everything finally shuts up.
โAre you qualified to do that?โ
โIs that too ambitious?โ
โWhat if it doesnโt work?โ
โWho do you think you are?โ
That voice can make a perfectly good idea feel ridiculous before youโve even explored it.
Then something interrupts the pattern.
For a moment, you can see the possibility
The doubt hasnโt been disproven. Itโs just stopped chairing the meeting.
And you get room to think.
To connect things youโd been treating as separate.
To question a limit youโd mistaken for a fact.
To stretch a little further than you were comfortable stretching yesterday.
Iโve been having a lot of those moments lately.
Enough that Iโm going out on a limb:
..I believe weโre building the most sophisticated, powerful go-to-market system weโve ever put together at Hyperweb...
But some of the thinking that got us here happened when I stopped trying so hard to think.
Built on the backs of pattern interrupts.
Whatโs the pattern interrupt? Is it exercise? Something mundane? A mind-altering substance?
Iโll leave that part to you to decide.
