🚚 Another delivery day, another adventure with Kai! 🐾

Today’s deliveries took us to a new customer, The Mess Tent, where I couldn’t decide what to order. With a recommendation from the staff, I went with the RCR Poutine—and she was right! It was absolutely delicious! 🍟🤤

Our next stop was Red Ochre Café, and let’s be honest… you can’t stop there for a delivery and leave without a slice (or two) of cheesecake! 🍰

If you haven’t checked out either of these local gems yet, I highly recommend adding them to your list. They’re both well worth the drive!

Today’s office looked a little different! ☀️🚤

We headed out to install a fresh set of custom boat decals, and it couldn’t have been a better day to be working outside in the sunshine.

Anyone who knows me knows that heights and I are definitely not friends… but today I pushed past that fear and we got the job done! 💪

There’s something rewarding about seeing a project come together, especially when it means stepping outside your comfort zone. Thanks to our customer for trusting Star Creations with another great project!

🎉 Star Creations is celebrating 10 years in business today! 🎉

Over the past decade, we’ve experienced many changes, learned valuable lessons, and adapted along the way. One of our biggest changes was closing our retail location and transitioning to a home-based business—a decision that allowed us to continue doing what we love while serving our customers in new ways.

Through every challenge, opportunity, and milestone, your support has made it all possible. We are incredibly grateful to our customers, friends, family, and community for being part of this journey.

✨ WHO WE ARE SERIES – UNDERSTANDING SETUP FEES & ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS ✨
After discussing our decorating methods, let’s cover another common topic in custom orders: setup fees and artwork requirements.
Many custom products require preparation before they can be embroidered, printed, or produced. Though it happens behind the scenes, this work is essential to creating a quality finished product.

🧵 Embroidery & Digitizing
Before a logo or image can be embroidered, it must be digitized. Digitizing converts artwork into a specialized embroidery file that tells the machine how to stitch the design.
Digitizing fees typically range from $25 to $80 plus tax, depending on the size and complexity of the artwork.

For one-time and single-item orders, this fee is charged to the customer. For larger and repeat orders, Star Creations often absorbs the cost.

🎨 Vector Artwork for Printing & Signage
Professional results require high-quality artwork. Many customer-supplied logos and images are not in vector format and must be converted before production.
Vector conversion fees typically range from $25 to $50 plus tax, depending on artwork complexity.

Like digitizing, these fees apply to one-time and single-item projects, while Star Creations often absorbs them for larger and repeat orders.

🤖 What About AI-Generated Images?
AI-generated artwork is popular, but it is rarely production-ready.

Most AI-generated images require graphic design work and vector conversion before they can be used for printing, signage, decals, and other customized products.

We know setup fees aren’t the most exciting part of a custom order, but they play an important role in producing professional, high-quality results.
