September is here, and school zones are officially active again. With the return to class comes a massive uptick in traffic, busy crosswalks, and unpredictable school buses during morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups.

As professional truck drivers, the safety of our communities starts with us. Running a multi-ton rig requires extra vigilance when navigating around eager kids and busy parents. Let's lead by example and protect our most vulnerable road users.

⚠️ Critical School Zone Safety Rules for Truckers:

Obey Speed Limits: School zone speed limits are strictly enforced. Lowering your speed dramatically increases your reaction time and shortens your stopping distance.

Stay Alert & Scanning: Put away all distractions. Constantly scan sidewalks, between parked cars, and around delivery trucks where children might unexpectedly step into the street.

Respect the Bus Stops: Never pass a school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, regardless of which direction you are traveling.

Watch the Blind Spots: Keep a close eye on your mirrors and blind spots when turning near schools, as smaller children can easily be hidden from view.Let’s keep our kids safe this school year. Stay alert, slow down, and watch for children in school zones! 🛑🏫
