Woo! Vaxxed, voted, and (still) very cute 😘

Just wanted to pop on the ‘gram to tell you all what I have been up to lately, which is a LOT, for me at least:
🤩 I have two brand identity clients, one web client, and two strategy clients in queue.
🤩 I am working on my own re-brand at the moment (more on this topic to come)
🤩 I am planning my wedding (!!!)
🤩 I am prioritizing health, rest, and play in my spare time and letting myself take deep breaths in between all of life’s business. This is something I’m not always great at, but my recent brand strategy clients have all really inspired me to make more memories that I will be glad to look back on one day.
🤩 I started working at a co-working office space, and I have been LOVING it.

Let’s re-imagine the world around us.

Let’s take our expectations of what things should look and sound like and flip them on their head to surprise, delight, and fascinate us.

When conceptualizing this passion project s*x shop brand, I knew I wanted to stay away from the highly vulgar and over-s*xualized culture that the p**n industry has created and instead lean into the core of what makes life s*xy and passionate.

In the design, I took inspiration from art, beauty, and nature to create a vibrant, luxury, romantic, and inclusive brand identity. The feeling I aimed to convey with the design was passion, but also approachability. I know that s*x shop’s can often feel overwhelming and intimidating, so I wanted to make this a brand that people would be proud to associate with because of it’s class and inclusiveness.

You can’t fake values 👏🏽

made a really great TikTok about this a few days ago. She was talking about Shein and their campaign which she summed up perfectly by essentially saying it doesn’t make sense for a giant fast fashion brand, aka the problem, to take the side of moral & social responsibility in a campaign.

If their brand aligned with the values of social responsibility, their product offering and business model would entirely change. Slapping a “socially responsible” campaign on an otherwise unethical business model does literally nothing for a brand’s reputation because the core of their brand contradicts that value so much that it’s blatantly phoney and any customer can see through it.

One of the commenters (@ srshie on TikTok) said “Companies like Shein will do anything but the actual thing they need to do” and it’s because their business model was never set up to be a value-based business.

Alex Kroll, the person who wrote this quote in the foreword of “The Hero and The Outlaw” goes on to say that the management of the meaning, ie the core values & personality, of a brand “must begin long before an ad is begun.”

Moral of the story: you can’t fake values in branding. They need to be intrinsic to the service or product offering & present both internally and externally within a businesses.

If you HAD to choose just one team to be on, would you prefer to be on the marketing team (📈), the creative team (🎨), or the branding team (🧠)? Comment your teams emoji!

This analogy came to me while I was cleaning the bathroom 🙃 I am often trying to explore new ways to explain branding because there is a lot of information out there & not all of it is helpful to the people us branding experts are serving.

In my brand strategy workshop, I work with entrepreneur’s to uncover their brand’s unique voice & persona which comes from a deep understanding of their purpose, vision and values and a compassion for their target communities life experiences. It’s such a powerful experience to gain clarity & an understanding about WHY you are in business and WHY your dream customers should be apart of your community. 💚🌿

As much as the actual graphic design & creative portion of my work is so much fun, I am extremely passionate about the branding ie. research, ideation, and strategizing part of the process. 😊
