RANDOM FUN FACT OF THE DAY:
Ever wonder where the phrase "mind your Pโs and Qโs" actually comes from? ๐ค๐It didn't start with manners or minding your behavior.
It likely started in early print shops!
Back in the day, typesetting was done entirely by hand. Printers had to manually place individual metal letters backward into a tray to set up a page for the press.
Because lowercase "p" and "q" are mirror images of each other, it was incredibly easy for apprentices to mix them up in the dark.
Master printers had to constantly remind their staff to look closely andโyou guessed itโ"mind your P's and Q's!" ๐ค
The next time you use this phrase, you're officially channeling a 15th-century printing press operator ๐
