Downtown Pembroke - Pembroke Business Improvement Area Welcome to the Pembroke Business Improvement Area (PBIA)! City council is the body responsible for approving the budget of the PBIA.

The Pembroke Business Improvement Area (PBIA) promotes Downtown Pembroke as an attractive business hub, a vital neighbourhood, and a destination to be experienced. We achieve this through beautification, preservation, marketing, and advocacy for the members and
the area. Together with local businesses and property owners, and with the support of the City of Pembroke, the PBIA organizes, funds, an

d carries out physical improvements and promotes economic development in the downtown core. There are now more than 270 BIAs in place across the province. They vary in size from 60 businesses and property owners to more than 2,000. Presently the PBIA has over 200 members.
