by Christine Hemminger Stained Glass Artist

This piece, "Homeward Bound," reflects the resilience and dedication required for survival in the early 1900s, as exemplified by the artist's grandmother, who traveled 35 miles to market and back weekly by covered wagon. All while also raising ten children on the modest family farm.

Christine Hemminger's artistic practice skillfully integrates stained and fused glass techniques. In this piece, the raised fused glass elements create a three-dimensional effect. Having been captivated by the vibrant colors and interplay of light within the medium since childhood, she began pursuing the art form following her retirement.

Hello Beautiful! Animal's are very difficult to do in glass especially dogs that are predominantly black and white. Thanks to some beautiful options in glass colors and textures I was able to pull this one off! Enjoy Sandrine!!!

Artistic Challenge Accepted - My cousin Mike, a super talented artist, created this gorgeous piece titled Musical Abstract. He passed it on to me as a challenge to reimagine it in stained glass. Here’s my take. He loved it!
