Our First May Day Parade in Port Coquitlam

On May 9, we proudly took part in the Port Coquitlam May Day Parade for the very first time.

We’ve been living and working in this community for nearly 20 years — and somehow, this was our debut. So we decided to make it count.

We fully branded our bucket truck, tried our best to “become cats,” and handed out stickers along the route. In many ways, this was a recon mission — testing ideas, learning what works, and preparing for something much bigger.

And yes… some things didn’t go as planned. Our contractors let us down with the car wrap, so one of the key visual elements didn’t make it in time. But that’s part of the process.

What’s Next

Next year, we’re going bigger:

Two vehicles instead of one (the Toyota Land Cruiser 100 was actually purchased with this in mind)
A fully wrapped show vehicle
A giant inflatable cat mounted on the roof
High-quality inflatable cat costumes
Custom automotive air fresheners for free giveaways

This year was just the beginning.

The Result

Despite everything, the reaction from the crowd was incredible.
People were smiling, laughing, clapping — and that’s what really matters.

The Bigger Idea

Our long-term goal goes beyond just participating in a parade.

We want to become a catalyst for launching “cat parades” in Vancouver — something similar to what’s already very popular in Japan.

We believe our furry companions deserve a little more recognition (and celebration).
And we’re ready to do our part to help make that happen.
