We are thrilled to feature and the 34th Annual Fingerling Festival in Issue 5 of See you at the festival Saturday, May 2 from 11am-3pm 🎉
For over 30 years, the Port Moody Ecological Society has been dedicated to protecting these vital species through their work at Noons Creek Hatchery. Run by a passionate team of volunteers, the hatchery supports thousands of Coho and Chum salmon each year while also monitoring water quality and ecosystem health to better understand and care for our local waterways.
This year alone, more than 32,000 salmon will begin their journey from Noons Creek out to the ocean - returning years later to the very place they were released. 🌊
We’re excited to feature Noons Creek Hatchery in Issue 5 of Inlet District Living magazine, highlighting the incredible work being done right here in our community.
Save the date on May 2 for the Fingerling Festival - a free, family-friendly event where you can help release 16,000 salmon fry into Noons Creek, explore environmental booths, and enjoy live music. Bring your friends and family and be part of something meaningful! 🌿
