Feeling like your efforts on Instagram are fruitless? 😖

You're not alone!

Instagram is more than creating and posting, There's a mix of actions that have to happen if you want to see success:

1- a strategy acts as a roadmap for all your posts. A clear strategy outlines the actions you're going to take and sets benchmarks for your content. It gives your a clear vision and the opportunity to make adjustments as you go

2- posting is not enough on it's own, to get noticed you need to engage with other accounts

3- a profile that's optimized enhances your searchability and tells people what you do and why they should follow you

4- if you don't post consistently, the algorithm will forget about you (and so will your potential customers!)

5- strong hooks grab your viewers attention and calls to action tell them what to do next

You're so close! You might just need to make a few adjustments to get where you want to be!

Obsessing over like and follow counts isn't going to do you any good

Of course, these metrics are indicative of increasing brand awareness and should be tracked to guage whether or not your content is resonating with your ideal client -- that's exactly why I obsessed with them

But if you're a small business owner putting yourself out there on social media and not getting a ton of likes and follows, it can be extremely discouraging

So discouraging that you might say to yourself "this isn't working, so I'm going to stop posting altogether"

Don't do that!! ✋️

Did you know that nearly 76% of consumers have used social media to search products and brands, and almost 69% of consumers made a purchase based on something seen on social media?! (Tint, 2023)

There's a huge risk of losing customers if you stop posting on socials 😖

So next time you post something and it doesn't get as many likes as you thought, or your account isn't growing as fast as you want it to be, try adjusting your strategy instead, but never stop posting!

Metrics are confusing! And what the heck is a marketing funnel?!

Let's break it down 👇

"Marketing funnel" is just a fancy way to say "customer journey"

Here's an example of a basic 3-tiered marketing funnel and the metrics you should look at to guage if your efforts are working or not

✨️1st tier: Awareness
This level is where people are just learning that your brand exists and typically makes up the largest portion of your content. Remember, the general rule is that someone needs to see your content *at least* 7 times before buying... but in our over-stimulated world, that number is now more like 21!!
Measure your awareness efforts with reach, shares, follows, and reel plays

✨️2nd tier: Conversion
At this stage, people have seen your content and likely engaged with it, and they're ready to buy from you.
Measure conversion efforts by looking at saves, link clicks, and website traffic

✨️3rd tier: Loyalty
This is where you will see referral and repeat business happening because your customers are now loyal fans!
Measure loyalty by looking at comments and shares
