Hillsdown Scout is one of our feature purebred Gelbvieh herdsires. We acquired him from the Hillsdown dispersal as a calf and he’s been one of our highlight bulls ever since. A direct son of the famous Finnegan, this bull is super easy calving with incredible production values. We’ve been adding many of his daughters to our herd because they carry so much maternal balance.

Silverline Maximus (SLF 69M) is one of our exciting new Gelbvieh “long yearling” herd sires. Born in May of 2024 he is pictured here in his working clothes after following 35 cows for a couple months. Even having lost some weight he shows his impressive length, depth and thickness with a strong top line. Our favourite part is that we have developed a 99.9% purebred Gelbvieh bull with a seriously thick hip that runs deep into the twist! More importantly, he has a very long pelvis bone with slight drop to the pins which should typically make for easier calving and the ability for that hip to carry more flesh. This bull has the tools to raise strong yet easy calving females.
Imagine having this kind of easy fleshing bloodlines with an 84lb birthweight, CED EPD of 13 and BW EPD of -1.3!
We have him running with our red “power herd” this year so our 2027 calves will be very exciting.

Our home raised Batt Signal took home some hardware and a paycheque today winning the North Star Breeders Futurity 3 year old Open Ranch Riding at the Wild Rose Circuit Quarter Horse Show.
