March Forth Calls on Saskatchewan to Act Boldly in a Time of Economic Uncertainty
Three of Saskatchewan’s most seasoned economic development and policy leaders are urging business and government leaders to think differently, and act decisively, with the release of March Forth: Urging Saskatchewan to Act, a new compendium of ideas focused on strengthening leadership during one of the most consequential periods in Canada’s recent economic history.
Authored by Dale Botting, Richard Jankowski, and Alan Wallace, March Forth brings together decades of frontline experience in economic development, public policy, and business advocacy. The book offers a series of practical, candid, and sometimes provocative “idea sets” designed to help Saskatchewan and Canada navigate trade disruption, productivity challenges, regulatory barriers, and global economic instability.
Rather than presenting a single policy prescription, March Forth is intentionally structured as a working document to spark discussion, challenge complacency, and encourage coordinated action across business networks, governments, and communities.
“This is not about waiting for perfect conditions or perfect policy,” said Botting. “It’s about recognizing that we are at a turning point, and that leadership, at every level, needs to be more strategic, more collaborative, and more courageous.”
The book addresses topics including trade diversification, import replacement, regulatory modernization, productivity, infrastructure investment, and talent attraction. Written as a series of concise, accessible briefs, it is aimed at business leaders, economic development organizations, policymakers, and advocacy groups looking for Saskatchewan perspectives during uncertain times.
“We’ve lived through multiple economic cycles,” said Jankowski. “What we’re seeing now demands that we move beyond short-term reactions and start thinking several moves ahead.”
This isn’t just about doing this differently, it is about doing things better for the future,” added Wallace. “And doing it together.”

From recreation and cultural facilities to parks, events, local businesses, and community services, the guide reflects what makes Melfort a vibrant place to live, work, and play. As the guide notes, Melfort blends small-town charm with strong amenities and year-round recreation opportunities.

This project brought together strategic writing, design, photography, and community storytelling to create a guide that supports tourism, economic development, and community pride.

New Report: Strengthening Saskatchewan’s ATV Sector

Saskatchewan’s ATV community is growing, but our province remains the only one in Canada without mandatory ATV licensing or a coordinated trail system.

Benchmark Public Relations and the Saskatchewan All-Terrain Vehicle Association (SATVA) have completed a major research project outlining how Saskatchewan can unlock the full recreational, tourism, and economic potential of ATVing.
The roadmap calls for a fair and sustainable licensing framework; investment in safe, designated trail systems; support for local clubs and youth safety programs; and collaboration with Indigenous, municipal, and rural partners

Saskatchewan Music Education Day officially launched!
Today at the Wascana Bandstand in Regina, music educators, students, parents, and community leaders came together to celebrate the role of music in our schools and communities.
Highlights included:
• The official proclamation by MLA Blaine McLeod.
• Student demonstrations of SMEA’s new free classroom kits, featuring boomwhackers, scarves, and bucket drumming sets.
• Messages of support from the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation and SaskCulture.
These new resources are designed to break down barriers to music instruction and ensure every student in Saskatchewan has access to inclusive, engaging, and high-quality music education.
