Connecting Jobber to an email platform sounds simple. Bad data modeling makes it a mess.

We've seen this more than once:

A service business connects Jobber to Klaviyo or HubSpot. Segments start pulling through. Automations go live.

Then the problems start:
— Clients receiving emails for services they've never booked
— Win-back sequences firing on active weekly clients
— Job history not matching what's actually in Jobber
— Duplicate contact records splitting the same client across two profiles

None of this is a platform problem. It's a data modeling problem.

How your Jobber data is structured before it connects to your ESP determines everything downstream. Get it wrong and your automations work against you.

Save this if you're planning an integration. DM us before you build — we've untangled more than a few of these.

Repeat business doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone followed up.

Most service businesses are great at the job. Not great at staying top of mind after it.

The client loved your work. Life moved on. Six months later they need you again — and they Google someone else because they couldn't remember your name.

That's not a loyalty problem. It's a follow-up problem.

Automated email sequences solve this at scale. Every completed job starts a conversation that keeps going — without anyone on your team lifting a finger.

That's what we build for service businesses.

If your follow-up strategy is currently 'hope they come back' — link in bio. Let's fix that.

The service businesses winning with email aren't sending more campaigns. They're running smarter automations.

Here are three Klaviyo flows every service business should have running right now:

1. The 90-Day Win-Back
Triggers when a client hasn't booked in 90 days. Reminds them you exist, offers an easy re-entry point. Runs automatically. No calendar needed.

2. Post-Job Upsell Sequence
Sends 1–2 emails after a completed job introducing a related or upgraded service. Strikes while the experience is fresh.

3. Seasonal Re-Engagement
Built around your service calendar — HVAC tune-ups before summer, gutter cleaning before fall. Timed by client history, not a blanket blast.

These three flows alone can recover lapsed clients and increase average job frequency without adding headcount.

Save this. Then DM us if you want help setting them up in Klaviyo.

Four reasons email marketing fails for service businesses — and what to do instead.

1. No segmentation
Every client gets the same email. A client who booked once two years ago gets the same message as your top recurring customer. Fix it: segment by recency, frequency, and service type.

2. No automation between campaigns
Email only goes out when someone remembers to send it. Fix it: build 2–3 evergreen automations that run without you.

3. Sending from the wrong platform
Using your field management tool's built-in email for marketing campaigns. Fix it: connect your client data to a dedicated ESP.

4. No clear next step
Emails that inform but don't convert. Fix it: every email should have one action — book, reply, or click.

Save this. Which one are you fixing first?

Most service businesses don't have an email marketing problem. They have a strategy problem.

They signed up for Mailchimp. Built a list. Sent a newsletter once a quarter.

Got low opens. Blamed email.

But email didn't fail them — the approach did.

Email fails for service businesses when:
— They treat it like a broadcast channel, not a relationship tool
— They send the same message to every client regardless of history
— They only email when they need to fill the schedule
— They have no automation running between campaigns

Email works when it's built around the client's journey — not the business's calendar.

Unpopular take: if you're a service business using Jobber and you don't have a separate email platform — you're leaving repeat revenue on the table every single month.

Jobber tracks your jobs. Your clients. Your history.

But all that data sitting inside Jobber isn't doing any marketing work unless it's connected to a platform built for campaigns.

Klaviyo, HubSpot, Mailchimp — whatever fits your size. The platform matters less than the connection.

The moment you pipe Jobber data into a real email platform, you can:
— Target clients who haven't booked in 90 days
— Upsell based on service history
— Automate seasonal re-engagement

Your competitors using Jobber alone aren't doing any of this.

Agree? Disagree? Let's hear it. And follow if you want more on email for service businesses.

Here's what Jobber's email tools actually can and can't do — no fluff.

CAN DO:
✔️ Send automated job confirmation emails
✔️ Trigger follow-up and review requests
✔️ Basic invoice and quote notifications

CAN'T DO:
🚫 Segment clients by job type, frequency, or spend
🚫 Run win-back sequences for lapsed clients
🚫 A/B test subject lines or send times
🚫 Track revenue attributed to specific campaigns
🚫 Integrate with a CRM or marketing automation platform natively

Jobber does what it's built for, really well. Email marketing at scale isn't on that list.

Save this if you're evaluating your current email setup. Then DM us — we help service businesses bridge this gap.

Jobber is great at running your field service business. It was never built to run your email marketing.

That's not a criticism — it's just the truth.

Jobber's built-in emails are designed for transactional triggers: job confirmations, invoices, follow-up requests.

They're not built for segmented campaigns. Not for behavioural automation. Not for re-engagement sequences.

If you're trying to grow repeat revenue using Jobber's native email tools alone, you've already hit the ceiling.

The businesses scaling past that ceiling have connected a dedicated email platform to their Jobber data.

Are you still relying on Jobber's built-in emails?

There's a gap between 'we send emails' and 'email drives revenue.' We live in that gap.

Most mid-sized companies have an email program. Not many have an email strategy.

There's a difference.

An email program sends newsletters and promos on a schedule.

An email strategy has segmented lists, automated journeys, a tested cadence, and a direct line to pipeline.

We work with marketing teams who know their current setup isn't enough — but don't have the bandwidth to rebuild it alone.

That's exactly where we come in. 👋

If that sounds like your team, link in bio. Let's talk.

What a proper ESP migration actually looks like (it's not just moving data).

Most teams think migration = export list → import list → done.

Here's what we actually do:
👉 Audit current platform: what's working, what's broken, what's being ignored
👉 Map all active flows before touching a single one
👉 Rebuild automation logic in the new platform before going live
👉 Warm the new sending domain properly (skipping this kills deliverability)
👉 Run both platforms in parallel for 2–4 weeks
👉 Only then: full cutover

Rushed migrations cost more than they save. We've cleaned up more than a few.

Planning a migration this year? Save this post. Then DM us before you start.
