Have you driven, walked or parked along Chatham Street in Steveston over the past year?

A pilot project for angled parking has been in place between Fourth Avenue and Sixth Avenue since July 2025, adding 17 parking stalls.

Now that the pilot has been in place for about a year, feedback from people who live, work, visit or park in Steveston will help evaluate the change and inform future parking decisions.

⚓️🌊 RICHMOND MARITIME FESTIVAL WEEKEND! 🌊⚓️

Steveston is celebrating its maritime roots this weekend! The Richmond Maritime Festival is back, bringing the waterfront to life with music, entertainment, maritime displays and plenty to explore around the historic village. ⚓️⛵️

There’s something extra special about seeing Steveston buzzing during this festival - boats in the harbour, families along the waterfront and our community coming together to celebrate the history and culture that helped shape Steveston. ❤️

If you’re heading down, make a day of it! Wander the festival, explore the waterfront and leave some time to pop into the local shops, restaurants and cafés throughout the village.

Richmond Maritime Festival

Here’s what you should know about this year’s Richmond Maritime Festival:

🛑 A few areas in and around the event venue, including the Seine Net Loft, will be closed to the public this year due to ongoing construction

⚓ Dock access this year will be available from the Shipyard building, while visitors with mobility issues may view the boats from an accessible viewing area on the Britannia Shipyard deck.

🌿 Feeling overwhelmed during the festival? There will be a designated Sensory Free Space in the Visitor Centre, and sensory kits can be signed out for use at the information booth located at the Port of Call zone.

♿ All heritage buildings open during the festival are accessible, however do note that the wooden boardwalk and wooden flooring inside the Richmond Boat Builders and Britannia Shipyard may be uneven.

💧Don’t forget to bring a water bottle! Water stations will be available across the site for you to fill up and stay hydrated.
