One of the things I really love about working with local businesses is getting to see the people behind them show up for the community in big ways.

Dr Lee from Smilee Dental Centre is participating in this year’s Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Ride and raising money for life-saving cancer research.

Dr Lee is a veteran of this event, and this year his children, Aaron, Emma and Joshua, are also taking part in the ride. Maybe starting a family tradition? If you’re able to sponsor one of them (or all three), I know it would mean a lot.

Since it began, the PMCF Ride has raised more than $320 million for cancer research, treatment, and breakthroughs that have changed lives.

As someone who has personally been through cancer twice, this one hits a little closer to home for me.

Cancer research matters. Early detection matters. Better treatments matter.

And seeing local people put their time, energy, and sore muscles toward helping move that forward is pretty incredible.

I’ll drop the sponsorship links for Emma, Joshua, and Aaron here (and in the comments). If you’re able to help, even a little bit, thank you. ❤️

The ride is happening on June 13th to 14th this year if you want to watch or participate!

A little shout-out is definitely in order.
I recently had my tires changed over at Elevate Automotive and Truck Elevate Automotive (Thanks Rich!) and decided to try their new vehicle detailing service while my van was there.

Wow.

Jordan did a fantastic job. The van came back looking amazing inside and out. It honestly feels newer, smells great, and he paid attention to all those little details that make a difference.

The pricing was very fair, the service was excellent, and the whole experience was easy from start to finish.

If your vehicle could use a little TLC, I can happily recommend giving them a call.

Thank you, Elevate Automotive and Truck. I'll definitely be back.

Quick Visibility Tip 👀

Your website homepage should answer these three questions within seconds:

✔ What do you do?
✔ Who do you help?
✔ How do people contact you?

If visitors have to hunt for basic information, many will leave before they ever become customers.

Not going to lie… last year I got invited to the Niagara River Lions Sip & Swish event and thought, “Well… I’m not exactly a basketball girl.” 🏀🍷

Turns out? I had an absolute blast.

I learned way more about basketball than I expected, enjoyed some amazing wine, and had such a fun ladies’ night out atmosphere without it feeling stuffy or intimidating.

So if you’re looking for something different to do with friends, I definitely recommend checking this out.

Join us for the Niagara River Lions Sip & Swish event, presented by Worth Results Coaching & Training with (my client and friend) Sue Wedsworth, on Wednesday, June 17 from 7–9 PM.

Your ticket includes:
🍷 Four wine tastings
🧀 Hors d’oeuvres
🎁 A special gift
🎶 Live music throughout the evening
🏀 Basketball tips and behind-the-scenes fun with the Niagara River Lions players and coaching staff

There are only a limited number of tickets available, so don’t wait too long to grab yours.

Hope to see some familiar faces there!

The Niagara River Lions are a Canadian professional basketball team based in St. Catharines, Ontario, that competes in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

If you’re tired of posting on social media and feeling like you’re throwing content into the either… you are definitely not alone.

A lot of businesses are working hard online but not actually getting much back from it.

Usually, it’s not because social media is “dead.”
It’s because the strategy underneath the posting is missing.

Things like:
❌ Posting without a goal
❌ Talking only about yourself
❌ No clear customer journey
❌ Creating content for algorithms instead of actual humans
❌ Expecting instant results from inconsistent effort

Here is a blog article breaking down some of the biggest reasons social media content falls flat and what to do instead.

Most businesses do not need to post more. They need to post with more purpose.

Social media works, but only with a plan. Speak to your audience, not at them. Make every post serve a purpose (awareness, value, or sales), keep it shareable, stay consistent, and include a clear next step. Read for more info.

"Dream big. Start small. But most of all, start."
— Simon Sinek

One of the biggest mistakes I see business owners make is waiting.

Waiting until they have more time.

Waiting until business slows down.

Waiting until they can afford a complete website overhaul.

Waiting until they understand SEO.

Waiting until they know exactly what to post on social media.

The problem is that while you're waiting, your competitors are moving.

The good news? You don't need to do everything today.

Update your business hours.

Ask for a review.

Fix an outdated page on your website.

Post a helpful tip on social media.

Add a photo to your Google Business Profile.

Small actions may not feel exciting, but they add up over time.

The businesses that get found online aren't always the biggest. They're often the ones that consistently show up and keep moving forward.

So if you've been putting off something that could help your visibility, this is your reminder:

Start small.

Just start.

What is one thing you could do this week to make your business a little easier to find online?

Keeping your social media updated should not feel like this. 😵‍💫

Somewhere along the way, business owners got the idea that they need to be:

✓ On Facebook
✓ On Instagram
✓ On LinkedIn
✓ On TikTok
✓ On Pinterest
✓ On YouTube

And then they need to figure out:

• How often should I post?
• What should I post about?
• Do I need videos?
• Do I have to dance?
• What hashtags should I use?
• Should I be scheduling content?
• What time should I post?
• How do I get more followers?
• Why is nobody seeing my posts?
• How do I turn all of this into actual customers?

No wonder so many business owners end up staring at their phone, ready to pull their hair out.

The good news?

You don't have to be everywhere.

You don't have to post five times a day.

And you definitely don't have to spend every spare moment creating content.

A good social media strategy is about figuring out where your customers actually are, what kind of content makes sense for your business, and creating a plan that you can realistically stick to.

If you'd like to handle it yourself, I can help you build a strategy that works.

If you'd rather hand it off completely, I can help with that too.

Either way, social media should support your business, not become a full-time job.

If your social media currently feels more like a source of stress than a marketing tool, let's talk.

Quick Visibility Tip 👀

If your business name, phone number, hours, or website link are different across the internet, Google can get confused about which information is correct.

Double-check your:
✔ Google Business Profile
✔ page
✔ Website
✔ Online directories

Consistency helps trust — with both people and search engines.
