En ce Jour du Souvenir, je pense à mon pépére et au grand-père de mon mari, qui étaient tous deux soldats Canadiens français. Je me demande aussi ce qu'ils ont vus pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale et quels fardeaux ils ont silencieusement porté dans leur cœur pour le reste de leur vie.

Je pense aussi à Muhammed, victime the la guerre en Palestine occupée.

Né avec le syndrome de Down et l'autisme, Muhammed Salah Bhar avait 24 ans lorsqu’il a dit ses premiers mots. Il les a criés alors que des chiens entraînés par l'IOF le mutilaient à mort à l'intérieur de sa maison en Palestine occupée. « Wala, wala… Khalas ya habibi », a-il répété. « Hé toi… ça suffit chéri. » Ses premiers mots. Et les derniers.

Pour Muhammed et toutes les voix Palestiniennes qui crient sans se faire entendre, pour toutes les générations autour du monde touchées par les ravages de la guerre — passé, présent, et futur: Ça suffit, chéri.

On this Remembrance Day, I’m thinking about my grandpa and my husband’s grandfather, who were both French Canadian soldiers. I wonder what things they witnessed during WWII, and what burdens they silently carried inside their hearts for the rest of their lives.

I’m also thinking about Mohammed, victim of the war in occupied Palestine.

Born with Down’s Syndrome and Autism, Muhammed Salah Bhar was 24 years old when he said his very first words. He screamed them as IOF-trained dogs mauled him to death inside his family’s home in occupied Palestine. « Wala, wala… Khalas ya habibi », he repeated. « Hey you… Enough, my dear. » His first words. And his last.

For Muhammed and every voice in Palestine screaming without being heard, and for every generation affected by the ravages of war around the world — past, current and future: Enough, my dear.

Oh, hi!
Good news, I finally put my “Le French Prince du Bel-Air” in my Bonfire shop. I revised the design a tiny bit. Nothing major, juste one or two tiny things that bothered me and only I could see. It’s fine.

“Le French Prince du Bel-Air” is available in adult and youth sizes. I wasn’t planning on including this design on anything more than a plain t-shirt, but it’s so cute on the youth tie dye I couldn’t resist!

Who is Le French Prince du Bel-Air? It’s you! And also a very Edmundston-specific joke, thank you very much.

And now for a bit of business…
For transparency’s sake, I thought I’d explain how Bonfire works on my end. I’ve included a screenshot of the page where I set the selling prices:

MIDDLE ROW — where I can set whatever price I want.
LEFTHAND ROW — that’s the amount Bonfire keeps. This money goes towards the cost of the blank shirt and printing. I can not modify this amount.
RIGHTHAND ROW — the amount Bonfire sends me for each sale. There’s a bulk sale option. This is only applicable when I sell multiple shirts of the same design through individual sales in a day (which has never happened), or when a person buys multiple shirts of the same design at once (also, has never happened). Bonfire sends me a payout link usually within 24 hours of making a sale, which gets deposited directly into my bank account.

PLEASE NOTE: I have absolutely no control over what Bonfire charges for shipping.

When I set the prices for each individual shirt, I try to get as close to receiving minimum wage as possible on each sale — without jacking up the price to something ridiculous. Currently, minimum wage in New Brunswick is $15.30 (thirty cents, LOL). I don’t want to charge 40+ dollars for a single t-shirt, which is why I’ll never make middle wage doing this.

Hallo!
Bonne nouvelle, j’ai enfin mis “Le French Prince du Bel-Air” dans ma boutique Bonfire. J’ai révisé le design un brin. Rien de grave, juste une ou deux petites choses qui me tracassait, et que personne voyait sauf moi.

“Le French Prince du Bel-Air” est disponible en tailles pour adultes et en tailles jeunesse. J’avais pas l’intention d’inclure les tie dye, mais le t-shirt jeunesse est tellement cute j’ai pas pu résisté!

C’est qui le French Prince du Bel-Air? C’est toi! C’est aussi une joke très spécifique pour la région d’Edmundston, thank you very much.

Pour vous montrer comment ça marche Bonfire, j'ai inclu une capture d'écran de la page où je fixe les prix.

La colonne du milieu c'est le prix des t-shirts: c'est là que je peut choisir n'importe lequel montant.
La colonne à gauche, c’est le montant que Bonfire garde: Bonfire utilise ce montant pour le t-shirt et pour imprimer le design. Je ne peut pas modifier ce montant.
La colonne à droite c’est ce que Bonfire me donne pour chaque t-shirt vendu: veuillez noter que j’ai jamais vendu plus qu’un t-shirt par commande, donc je n’ai jamais bénéficié de leur option de vente multiple. C'est juste applicable si quelqu’un commande plus d’un t-shirt du même design à la fois et en super grande quantité.

À noter: J’ai aucun contrôle sur le montant que Bonfire demande pour le shipping.

Quand je fixe les prix de chaque t-shirt, j’essaie de m’approcher le plus que possible du salaire de base minimum pour chaque vente — sans augmenter les prix à des niveaux ridicules. En ce moment, le salaire minimum au Nouveau-Brunswick est $15.30 (trente cennes, LOL). J’veux pas vous charger 40+ piasses pour un t-shirt… So, c’est ça.

Just finished. Poppies and forget-me-nots, with words I’ve carried around with me since January: « My family, all of them, have been martyred. I am now without parents, siblings, or uncles. I have no family, no home, no work. All my family lived, and I am the one who died. They are all doing fine in a mass grave, while I am alone above ground. » OUF! I deleted twitter a million years ago, but I created an account tonight to see if this person is still alive. They are, and they’ve since relocated. On the one hand I’m so glad they are safe! On the other, I doesn’t change the fact that they and their family are the victim of almost 100 years of occupation.

Work in progress: Khalas ya habibi (enough my dear). Based on an article I read about a 24 year old Palestinian man’s first ever and, sadly, last words. He had Down’s syndrome and autistic, and non-verbal. Until the last violent moments of his life.

Muhammad’s story has stuck with me since I read the article when it came out (July 12). Been starting and stopping, and I’ve deleted a lot of drawings. Not 100% sure where I’m going with this one or what I will do with this when it’s done. But I DO know I’m drawing forget-me-nots next.

Anyway, bon weekend. Mes t-shirts pride sont encore là. So far j’ai fait un don de zéro dollars et zéro cennes. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh hi! Fancy meeting you here on a Saturday night. For the first time since November. It's fine. I'm in the process of revamping some of my previous designs, and here's the first one.

PROUD OF YOU (every single day) is available in two versions: pocket logo and full chest. It is only available on a white Classic Unisex style t-shirt in both adult and youth sizes. With each purchase, $12 and $10 will be donated to a not-for-profit 2SLGBTQIA+ group in New Brunswick.

I will make ZERO money on this, Bonfire keeps the rest for hosting the shop, printing the shirts and shipping directly to you (that's why the price of the shirts is weird, I wanted an easy number to work with on my end!). You'll know I've sold a shirt when I post donation receipts & thank yous.

In other news:
If anyone's wondering where I've been, the answer is "not designing t-shirts". Ha ha, it's fine. I'm just kind of burned out on working on something for days, weeks, months (I worked on one design for years!) and not even making minimum wage on one or two purchases (hi dad). While I figure out where I'm going with this project, I've taken down the majority of my designs, and plan on revamping a few of them. Will post whenever I put something new up.

Although if you go over to my shop now and scroll to the bottom, there's a very specific French film nerd shirt that I never mentioned here because I'm pretty sure my sister and I are the only ones who were, like, WHY AREN'T THERE ANY GOOD JACQUES TATI SHIRTS? Because the last movie he made was in 1974 and then he died, you nerds. But I digress...

Hi! Sharing my own post because I've made an important discovery: Do not order the stickers with a white background -- they look like garbage! Please chose the "clear" background! I do not want you to pay for garbage! Also, do not order the magnet! It will also look like garbage!

BUT! "Coeur de Ploye" and "Acadie des terres et forêts" are ok to get with white background and as a magnet.

CONCLUSION: any design that is just words will not work on a sticker with white background or on a magnet.

Sorry for the double posts, I'm still trying to figure things out!

Well, I’ve finally found a site that I like to sell my designs, on colours and items of my choosing.

I’ve been working on some things this fall, but they’re not exactly ready yet. So I’ve uploaded almost all my old designs to my very own storefront. There, you’ll find t-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, tank tops and kid sized-shirts, as well as stickers, magnets, bags, mugs, notebooks and other things that I can’t remember at the moment.

I will update when I have new designs. I’ve got Pizza Dog coming up, and a Bel-Air themed shirt that made me laugh when I first thought of it (2-3 years ago?), so look forward to THAT.

PLEASE NOTE: Threadless has set the prices for all the items. I didn’t change anything because I want my shop to qualify for their Christmas sales (also I’m not sure how the pricing works yet, so I’ll leave it as is for now and make adjustments later).

SHIPPING: I don’t know how long it takes for them to ship anything. I’ve ordered from Threadless several times in the past, I just can’t remember how long it takes to get items from them. So if you want something for Christmas I’d order sooner than later!
