Before the holiday break, learners in our Project-Based Learning class rolled up their sleeves and got creative during a two-part candle workshop led by our social enterprise, Creative Squirrel Marketing & Design
Each learner made three candles:
1. Stone Soup Café’s signature scent: Coffee Cake & Spice
2. A NEW collaborative scent: Morning Cereal
3. Their very own custom scent to take home
In the second session of the workshop, learners dove into the world of label design. They considered what their candle smelled like, who they envisioned it being for, the ambiance or feeling they wanted it to create, colours, fonts, and the overall style they wanted.
Learners shared their scents, asked for feedback, and supported one another’s ideas. Once the sketches were ready, Creative Squirrel digitized the designs and printed the final labels, bringing each learner’s vision to life.
This workshop wasn’t just about making candles—it was about creativity, confidence, teamwork, and the power of learning-by-doing.
