Looking west from Saint John toward Maces Bay, with distant cloud towers catching the last light.

Those billowing shapes form as moist air rises, cools and condenses, revealing the atmosphere’s motion. As the sun sinks, its light travels through more atmosphere, scattering away more blue and leaving the warm reds and oranges beneath the cloud bank.
I could watch these clouds dance all day. The camera doesn’t appreciate the scale.

The high pressures tonight didn’t disappoint, providing a nearly crystal clear send off to summer.

The Autumn equinox began at 9:05pm, September 22, the precise moment nights begin to get longer until the Winter solstice in December.
