I’m becoming less interested in photographing individual subjects and more interested in composing the space between them—finding strange angles, using compression to pull distant layers together, and using parallax to reveal how those layers separate and move. A change in perspective can turn a familiar place into something almost abstract. The city hasn’t changed; only the relationships within the frame have. Altering space, time, distance and composition is so rewarding; you often don’t need a subject.
