Current teacher (daughter of a teacher) who believed in gratitude, decides to create a greeting card The artwork on the cards are original works by me.

My mom, Saunders, a former teacher, always insisted on "pleases" and "thank you’s". After every holiday, birthday, or celebration she would ask, "Have you written a thank you note?" I would then be promptly sent to a table or desk to write one. Tedious as this task seemed to me as a child, I realized how important this was when my grandmother showed me the box of my saved letters and thank you’s

sent to her over the years, as I visited her in her nursing home. Handwritten letters and writing to say thank you are quickly becoming a lost art. To honour my mother's memory, I have decided to start a card company. I have packaged cards for you to take the time to write the people you care about. The "thank you" inside the card is in my mother’s handwriting. I hope to feature the work seasonally and expand the collection. A portion of the sale of each box of cards/items will go to support local cancer and breast cancer charities. Thank YOU for your support. Sorry for the breathlessness in this video( and why does my neck look like that?) but it was a beautiful night for a walk and a really important message. The shout out on the radio (88.9 out of Saint John) happened a few weeks ago, but my husband was in the shower and didn’t hear it. He just came in to me jumping up and down really excited! I tried to go onto their site and find a transcript, but couldn’t find the exact time stamp. Thank you to Meagan at the pharmacy who stopped me in the store and said “hey I heard your name on the radio the other day”, so I had proof that I wasn’t imagining things. It WAS at 6:43 AM that morning, so the odds of someone local actually hearing it -including me - was pretty slim. Thank you Q Morning Crew for making my day.

I’ve been a little quiet here lately, but only because there are sports and there are plays and there are city visits and driving hours. However, today we will be talking about all those special people in our lives: to our mom in heaven, to the wonderful stepmom and MIL who are amazing grammies to our kids, to my sister moms, my girlfriend moms, to my colleague moms, to the dog moms, to the plant moms, to the moms with littles, and to the moms whose big kids are away. I’m thinking of all of you today. Thank you to my kiddos who made me a mom most of all! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

NEW CARD: The Heron. Along the river and in the marshes, the heron was a rare and awesome sight. Sometimes you would hear them before you saw them due to
sound of the giant wings, as they take off. When flying, they curve their necks inward and are just as beautiful in flight. I have been dying to paint this majestic bird for awhile. See link in bio!
