This is a picture of my lap. I am in the middle of writing my Christmas cards . In 2017, I was feeling nostalgic about my mom and I wrote 100 Christmas cards with some of my original designs. It was exactly this time eight years ago. My very cluttered work area is my habit, while I sit and check all of my addresses; I am excited I get to send out the first bulk mail in two years. Mail will go out first and then friends, colleagues, and neighbours. In the past year, I’ve added to my list of stores, met lots of new and repeated customers, had some of my best markets ever, and continue to spread the message of gratitude written by hand. This is your yearly reminder to write that note, fill out that card, and to shop local with your favourite artisans and makers.
