If you're a senior aged 55 and over drop into this free event on Monday, June 15th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the hall at First United Church

Join us for an afternoon of laughter, connection, community, and discovery at Laugh & Learn — a free Seniors Connection Fair created to bring older adults together in a welcoming, relaxed, and engaging space.

This drop-in event blends fun activities, games, amazing door prizes, food, conversation, and practical information with local supports that help older adults stay safe, connected, informed, independent, and thriving in our community.

Community organizations from across the Shuswap will be hosting interactive booths designed to spark conversation and participation — no lectures, no pressure, just friendly faces and meaningful connections. Many of the participating agencies provide programs and services that reflect the spirit of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day by promoting dignity, respect, safety, well-being, and healthy aging.

Whether you come to learn something new, meet people, enjoy the activities, or simply share a few laughs, everyone is welcome.

An important message from U Grow Girl :

Our nonprofit is currently looking for donations of large, working deep freezes to support the work we do at U Grow Girl.

As we continue growing flowers, preserving berries, supporting community events, and expanding the ways we create sustainable funding for healing programs for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, proper cold storage has become something we truly need.

We are specifically looking for:
• Large upright or chest deep freezes
• In good working condition
• Clean and reliable

If you or someone you know has one they are no longer using, we would be incredibly grateful to connect. Donations like this help us direct more funding back into free, trauma-informed healing experiences for survivors in our community.

We do have a truck and are happy to arrange pickup throughout the Shuswap and surrounding areas.
